Evidence of Single State Dominance in the Two-Neutrino Double-β Decay of ^{82}Se with CUPID-0.

We report on the measurement of the two-neutrino double-β decay of ^{82}Se performed for the first time with cryogenic calorimeters, in the framework of the CUPID-0 experiment. With an exposure of 9.95 kg yr of Zn^{82}Se, we determine the two-neutrino double-β decay half-life of ^{82}Se with an unprecedented precision level, T_{1/2}^{2ν}=[8.60±0.03(stat) _{-0.13}^{+0.19}(syst)]×10^{19} yr. The very high signal-to-background ratio, along with the detailed reconstruction of the background sources allowed us to identify the single state dominance as the underlying mechanism of such a process, demonstrating that the higher state dominance hypothesis is disfavored at the level of 5.5σ.

A class of multivariate type I generalized logistic distributions

The logistic distribution has found important applications in many different fields and several different forms of generalizations have been proposed in the literature. However it seems, with a few exceptions, that there are not in the literature forms of multivariate generalized logistic distributions. In this paper we focus on the type I generalized logistic distribution and, based on a procedure of multivariate transformation of multivariate exponential distributions, we introduce a class of multivariate type I generalized logistic distributions. We provide some examples of bivariate and multivariate distributions of this class.

Tutkielman tavoitteena on avata meikkaamisen kokemuksellisuutta ja toimijuutta sekä meikkaamisen motiiveja ja merkityksiä meikkaajien haastattelupuheen kautta. Haastatteluja käsittelen diskurssianalyysin keinoin. Meikkaamisen kannalta relevantteja aihepiirejä ovat esimerkiksi kosmetiikan historia, kauneusihanteet ja -normit, julkisen olemisen normit, pukeutuminen ja tyyli sekä luonnollisuusihanne. Näitä tarkastelen pääasiassa healthismin, eroottisen pääoman ja luonnollisuusideologian viitekehyksissä. Lisäksi painotan identiteettiä ja meikin roolia minuuden kehittämisessä ja tukemisessa. The puzzles of daily life: The temporal orders of families when parents have non‐standard work schedules

This article investigates the temporal orders of families as the daily rhythms and schedules when one or both parents work non-standard hours. Our focus is especially on the often asynchronous times of non-standard work, on one hand, and of early childhood education and care (ECEC) services and other institutions, on the other hand. The data consist of semi-structured qualitative interviews of Finnish parents with a four-year-old child. The results show that the asynchronous times generated by non-standard working hours cause a wide range of collisions both in relation to childcare and ECEC and to the division of labour between parents. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kuvata ja ymmärtää haastateltavien kokemuksia työhaastattelusta sekä kuvata heidän näkökulmastaan haastattelijan ja haastateltavan välistä vuorovaikutusta työhaastattelussa. Tarkoituksena oli perehtyä työhaastatteluun erityisesti interpersonaalisena vuorovaikutustilanteena, jossa sekä työnantaja että työnhakija arvioivat toisiaan ja sopivuutta toisilleen. Tarkastelen tätä työhaastattelun vuorovaikutustilannetta työnhakijoiden näkökulmasta. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja aineistonkeruumenetelmänä toimi teemahaastattelu.
