Keskustelua vanhustenhoidosta : teemoitteluanalyysi vanhustenhuollon nettikeskustelusta

Vanhustenhoidosta on puhuttu ja kirjoitettu paljon viime aikoina Suomessa. Keskustelua ovat herättäneet muun muassa palvelujen kattavuus, palvelujen laatu ja alueelliset erot palvelujen saatavuudessa. Omaiset ovat kantaneet huolta siitä, saavatko heidän läheisensä ihmisarvoa kunnioittavaa hoitoa ja huolenpitoa. Keskustelua on käyty myös paljon henkilöstön riittävyydestä ja työpaineista vanhustenhuollossa. Abstract This article examines the role of the media in the EU freedom of movement debate through the lens of high-circulation German and UK newspapers during the first half of 2014. It explores how the media problematised migration from Eastern European member states and its influence on national host country labour markets and welfare systems. It also analyses how different media outlets positioned themselves in relation to relevant policies or policy proposals. Vuorohoito kontekstina on ainutlaatuinen varhaiskasvatusympäristö, joka tuo tullessaan ominaispiirteitä pedagogiikan toteuttamiseen sekä pedagogisen johtamiseen. Early Health, Risk Aversion and Stock Market Participation

To examine the relationship between early health status and financial decisions in adulthood, we link information on birth weight in 1966 from the Northern Finland Birth Cohort to data from the Finnish Central Securities Depository over the period of 19952010. We find that persons predisposed to poor health status in early childhood (indicated by low birth weight) avoid participating in the stock market in adulthood. The link between birth weight and stock market participation is partially explained by the fact that poor early health status leads to risk aversion. A new picking algorithm based on the variance piecewise constant models

AbstractIn this paper, we propose a novel picking algorithm for the automatic P- and S-waves onset time determination. Our algorithm is based on the variance piecewise constant models of the earthquake waveforms. The effectiveness and robustness of our picking algorithm are tested both on synthetic seismograms and real data. We simulate seismic events with different magnitudes (between 2 and 5) recorded at different epicentral distances (between 10 and 250 km). For the application to real data, we analyse waveforms from the seismic sequence of L’Aquila (Italy), in 2009.
