In this paper we present an approach to the interconnection of a seawave power farm to the grid The generator type used in the farm is a Permanent Magnet (PM) linear generator driven from the seawaves that generates, therefore, highly distorted emfs. Per farlo, si seguiranno i percorsi biografici di quattro militanti di Lotta continua, il gruppo politico nel quale Impastato aveva militato fino al 1976, che si collocava nel vasto e complesso mondo della sinistra italiana esterna al Partito comunista. Il saggio presenta alcune considerazioni conclusive sulla sezione monografica dedicata a Istituzioni, relazioni e culture politiche nelle città tra stato della Chiesa e regno di Napoli (1350-1500 ca.). I tre autori, adottando un approccio comparativo, riflettono sulla definizione degli spazi nelle due aree confinanti, sulla condizione delle città pontificie e sulle culture politiche e le specificità dei centri urbani considerati nella raccolta.

Solid rotor induction machines for use in electrically-assisted turbochargers

The stator leakage reactance has a major influence on the performance of a solid rotor induction machine. It is larger and it is more difficult to define and calculate than in a cage-rotor machine. When the higher leakage reactance is taken into account, the equivalent circuit model gives predictions of sufficient precision for design purposes. The airgap, normally chosen to be quite small, is preferably quite large by general standards. The torque varies as (V/f) 3 which makes it difficult to provide a wide range of constant power operation in a variable speed application. Slitting the rotor helps to improve the characteristic for variable-speed duties.

The research focuses on analysis of a well-known fragment of Justinian’s Digesta: 50.16.130 (Ulp. 2 ad leg. Iul. et Pap.). Formerly, several scholars have raised many doubts regard to its authenticity. The author’s basic idea is that there are not solid issues in favor of the hypothesis that the fragment is not genuine. On the contrary, both the examination of the terminology, used in the fragment, and the comparison between D. 50.16.130 and other sources (in particular: D. 38.16.1 pr.; 5.3.1 e 3; Tit. Ulp. 11.2-3; 11.14) might provide interesting evidences in support of its classical content.
A new solution for the sea wave exploitation. A linear ironless generator

The exploitation of sea wave represents an important frontier for the energy sustainability in the next future. Despite the proposal of several techniques and solutions, commercial devices are not available. In this context, the Department of Engineering is investigating an innovative solution based on linear energy generators. This machine can be adopted as the main component in a wave energy converter, that is the device for the energy extraction of sea wave.
