Grafisko elementu pielietojums apkalpojošā personāla formas tērpu dizainā
2017

2015
Bakalaura darba Zīmolu „Calvin Klein”, „Tommy Hilfiger” un „Guess” tēli patērētāju priekšstatos par dzīvesstilu pētījuma problēma tiek saistīta ar zīmolu tēliem patērētāju priekšstatos, kuri pārstāv dažādus dzīvesstilus. Darba pētneciskie jautājumi ir: 1) kādi zīmolu „Calvin Klein”, „Tommy Hilfiger” un „Guess” tēli tiek komunicēti to izplatītāja „Denim dream” žurnālā „Dream”? 2) kādi šo zīmolu tēli izveidojušies Latvijas patērētāju priekšstatos? 3) kā šo zīmolu tēli atšķiras patērētāju priekšstatos dažādos to segmentos atkarībā no dzīvesstila? Pētījums ietver žurnāla „Dream” publikāciju analīzi, aptaujas rezultātus, analīzi un secinājumus par zīmolu „Calvin Klein”, „Tommy Hilfiger” un „Gues…

Management of Listeria monocytogenes on Surfaces via Relative Air Humidity: Key Role of Cell Envelope
2021
International audience; Although relative air humidity (RH) strongly influences microbial survival, its use for fighting surface pathogens in the food industry has been inadequately considered. We asked whether RH control could destroy Listeria monocytogenes EGDe by envelope damage. The impact of dehydration in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) at 75%, 68%, 43% and 11% RH on the bacterial envelope was investigated using flow cytometry and atomic force microscopy. Changes after rehydration in the protein secondary structure and peptidoglycan were investigated by infrared spectroscopy. Complementary cultivability measurements were performed by running dehydration–rehydration with combinations o…
Assessment of quality of air in Palermo by chemical (ICP-OES) and cytological analyses on leaves of Eucalyptus camaldulensis
2013
In this work, we studied the influence of air pollution on the morpho-structural, biochemical and chemical composition of Eucalyptus camaldulensis leaves. Analyses were carried out on 22 samples collected in Palermo (Italy) area. Considering the mean concentrations (in unwashed leaves) of investigated metals, nutrient elements as Fe (214 mg kg(-1) dry weight (d.w.)), Mn (160 mg kg(-1) d.w.) and Zn (39 mg kg(-1) d.w.) were the most abundant, whereas Pb (5.6 mg kg(-1) d.w.) and Cd (0.072 mg kg(-1) d.w.) showed the lowest concentrations. The values of metal pollution index (MPI) ranged from 6.0 (station no. 15) to 25 (station no. 8) and from 4.0 (station no. 16) to 17 (stations no. 7 and no. 1…
Second trimester uterine arteries pulsatility index is a function of placental pathology and provides insights on stillbirth aetiology: A multicenter…
2022
Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between maternal vascular malperfusions (MVM) and second trimester uterine arteries pulsatility index (UtA-PI) in cases of stillbirth (SB), compared to live-birth (LB) matched controls. Methods: This was a multicentre, observational, matched case-control study performed at five referral maternity centres over a 4-year period including SB and LB control pregnancies at high-risk for preeclampsia (PE) and/or fetal growth restriction (FGR), matched and stratified for UtA-PI MoM quartiles values of the SB cases. Logistic regression was used to assess the rates of each MVM finding, within each increasing MoM quartile subcate…
Inhibitory effect of resveratrol on the proliferation of human and rat hepatic derived cell lines.
2000
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound especially produced by grapevine and consequently found in wine. Based on epidemiological studies resveratrol may act as a cancer chemopreventive compound. The ability of resveratrol to inhibit cell proliferation was studied in rat hepatoma Fao cell line and human hepatoblastoma HepG2 cell line. The results show that resveratrol strongly inhibits cell proliferation at the micromolar range in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Concentrations higher than 50 microM become toxic. Fao cells are more sensitive than HepG2 cells. Interestingly, the presence of ethanol lowers the threshold of resveratrol effect. Resveratrol appears to prevent or to delay the en…
Molecular analysis on the chemopreventive properties of resveratrol, a plant polyphenol microcomponent.
2002
As a plant microcomponent, resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound produced by several species and found especially in Polygonum roots, peanuts seeds, berries and also grape and therefore can be present in human diet or beverages (red wine, for instance). Traditional chinese medicine and more recent epidemiological studies strongly suggested that resveratrol may act as a cancer chemopreventive compound. The biochemical mechanism by which resveratrol inhibits cell proliferation was provided by studies in numerous human cell lines including our work in hepatoblastoma HepG2 and colorectal tumor SW480 cells. The results show that resveratrol strongly inhibits cell proliferation at the micromolar…
