Spent Coffee Grounds Extract, Rich in Mannooligosaccharides, Promotes a Healthier Gut Microbial Community in a Dose-Dependent Manner.

Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages around the world, and as a consequence, spent coffee grounds are a massively produced residue that is causing environmental problems. Reusing them is a major focus of interest presently. We extracted mannooligosaccharides (MOS) from spent coffee grounds and submitted them to an in vitro fermentation with human feces. Results obtained suggest that MOS are able to exert a prebiotic effect on gut microbiota by stimulating the growth of some beneficial genera, such as Barnesiella, Odoribacter, Coprococcus, Butyricicoccus, Intestinimonas, Pseudoflavonifractor, and Veillonella. Abstract Background The microbiota community is considered as an organ of the human body. Recent studies have found that dysbiosis may have an impact on the interaction between immune regulation and tumor treatment. The main objective of this study is to characterize the gut microbiota in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in advanced stages, and its relationship with obesity, smoking habits, clinical pathological features and response to treatment with immune-checkpoints blockers (ICB). Tutkimuksessani tarkastelen alkoholiongelmaisten vanhempien kanssa eletyn lapsuuden merkitystä ja vaikutuksia myöhemmälle elämälle. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin kesällä 2007 teemahaastatteluita käyttäen. Tutkimukseen osallistui kymmenen henkilöä. Heistä yhdeksän oli naisia ja yksi mies. Aineiston analyysimenetelmänä on käytetty sisällönanalyysia sekä teemoittelua. Niiden avulla aineistosta nousi esiin tutkittaville yhteisenä piirteenä se, että lapsuus koettiin merkitykseltään menetettynä. Tutkittavien mukaan normaali lapsuus oli jäänyt kokematta, ja he kokivat katkeruutta normaalin lapsuuden puuttumisesta. Th e reform of the doctoral student education system, resulting in a departure from conducting third degree studies in favour of doctoral schools, resulted in changes in the fi eld of social security law. Th e status of a doctoral student receiving a doctoral scholarship has become independent grounds for compulsory retirement, disability and accident insurance.
