BACKGROUND: Partial rootzone drying (PRD) is a novel deficit irrigation technique consisting in the alternated wetting of only one side of the rootzone, which induces partial stomatal closure and increased water use efficiency. The effect of PRD and rootstock vigor on ‘Pink Lady’ apple fruit quality and aroma profile was studied using solid-phase micro-extraction in headspace and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. RESULTS: PRD irrigation generally did not affect quality attributes, whereas it influenced the aroma of the apple fruit. In particular, PRD improved the aroma of the fruit flesh, while it decreased the volatile fraction in the peel, where most of the compounds are concentrated.…

Abstract Sukuk (Islamic bonds) are one of the Islamic finance sectors that have experienced the fastest growth during the last decade. Using a quali-quantitative approach known as meta-literature review, the aim of this paper is to survey the sukuk literature over the period 1950–2018. In total we review and analyze 80 papers through bibliometric citation analysis (using HistCite and VOSviewer software) coupled with content analysis. We show the influential aspects of the literature, such as countries, institutions, journals, authors, articles and topics. Using the unanticipated creation of a new agency in the French region of Lyon as a quasi-natural experiment, we question whether distance to local public employment agencies (LPEAs) is a new channel for spatial mismatch. Contrary to past evidence based on aggregated data and consistently with the spatial mismatch literature, we find no evidence of a worker/agency spatial mismatch, which pleads for a resizing of the French LPEA network. However, echoing with the literature on the institutional determinants of the local public employment agencies' efficiency, we do find detrimental institutional transitory effects.

Seasonal zooplankton patterns in a shallow oligotrophic lake: Loch Rusky (Scotland)

The zooplankton taxa and their seasonal distribution are describeb for Loch Rusky, a shallow oligotrophic lake in the central region of Scotland. 15 species were indentified: 11 Rotifera, 2 Cladocera and 2 Copepoda. Only 5 species Polyarthra remata, Keratella cochlearis, Filinia terminalis, Trichocerca sp. and Eudiaptomus gracilis occurred in sufficient numbers to facilitate a description of their seasonal pattern. The annual zooplankton variation was dominated by rotifers for most of the year, but copepods (E. gracilis, Cyclops sp.) only were dominant in the epilimnion during summer.
