Since the 19th century, thousands of footprints were observed in the geological series of the French Mesozoic. All are located in the Triassic and Jurassic. After a promising beginning, in France, it is only a few papers which will be published in the first half 20th century, unlike the USA and of others countries of Western Europe. The relationship between alluvial dynamics and control parameters such as climate are well known and understood at plurimillennial and pluriannual time-scales. But it is not really the case at multicentennial and multidecennal time-scales compatible with human society settlement time-scales. Three fundamental features concerning the organization of the bio-sedimentary series of the upper Bajocian-lower Bathonian of the Burgundy threshold environment are retained:- the formations are organized in a bio-sedimentary platform, composed of three sets: a deep SW platform with clay sedimentation, a superficial NE platform, a transition zone- the geochemical characteristics are consistent with the reconstitution of the NE-NW polarized platform- this device has changed over time: a migration and extension of the surface platform to the SW, development of the transition zone, a slight displacement of the deep platform correlated with a more and more opening towards the SW.

33 pages; International audience; La " Dalle à ammonites de Digne " est une localité fossilifère très spectaculaire, d'importance tant scientifique que patrimoniale. Ce site exceptionnel est protégé par la Réserve Naturelle Géologique de Haute-Provence (RNGHP). La dalle d'environ 320 m2, qui constitue l'élément essentiel du site, porte plus de 1550 céphalopodes (surtout des ammonites, mais aussi quelques nautiles) et une faune benthique discrète, mais assez diversifiée, principalement constituée de bivalves épibenthiques. Le diagnostic archéologique réalisé dans le sous-sol situé à l’ouest et au droit de la Salle des Gardes (Grand’Chambre) et de la Salle des Gens d’Armes (Grand’Salle) visait à accompagner la réalisation de cinq sondages de repérage initiés par le Centre des Monuments Nationaux pour rechercher, côté sud, un potentiel sol contemporain de l’édifice médiéval attenant (zone test 1) et côté nord pour retrouver les traces d’un ancien pavillon (zone test 2). Aucun sol construit n’a été révélé dans les sondages 1 à 4, mais on ne peut exclure une destruction liée à la mise en place de l’espace excavée au XVIIe s.
