The Sicilian Fold and Thrust belt (SFTB) is a structurally complex area where along-strike variations of structural styles, shortening amounts, exhumation rates and amounts of syn-tectonic sedimentation frequently occur. Moreover strong differential clockwise rotations around vertical axes affected the different tectonic units during their emplacement. Il 9 maggio 2019 il Prefetto di Siracusa ha emanato, sulla base dell’art. 2 del testo unico delle leggi di pubblica sicurezza (t.u. 18 giugno 1931, n. 773: da ora TULPS), un’ordinanza con cui vieta “assembramenti di persone e/o automezzi nei luoghi di seguito indicati, ricadenti nei territori dei Comuni di Siracusa e Priolo Gargallo con effetto immediato e fino al 30 settembre 2019”. L'articolo si sofferma sull'analisi degli aspetti più critici di questa decisione giurisprudenziale inserendola nel più ampio contesto del dibattito dottrinale in materia di titolarità del diritto di sciopero.

The southern Tyrrhenian Sea margin is dominated by deformations whose kinematics are relatively poorly constrained, and different models have been proposed to account for its recent evolution. Analysis of new structural and space geodesy data, combined with available geophysical information, reveal a deformation field characterised by subhorizontal NW-SE directed shortening and SW-NE directed extension. The main recognised regional-scale structure comprises E-W trending fault zones, namely the Ustica-Eolie Line and the Mt. Some regions may be characterized by a very low annual lightning ground flash density, and yet lightning strikes seem to have been in those areas the cause of widespread wildfires in forested areas. Due to global climate change, these occurrences seem to be an increasing threat. In this paper, the authors discuss the withstand capability of trees against lightning and introduce the criteria for the deployment of tree lightning protection systems (TLPS) to protect forested areas, where deemed necessary by the tree risk assessment.
