This research project examines socialized housing programs available to informal settlers in the megacity of Metro Manila, Philippines, and the socio-political and institutional relationships that enable or impede access to housing. Megacities are urban agglomerations with populations of over 10 million inhabitants and Asia and Africa contain some of the fastest growing cities in the world. Helsingin kaupunki on sitoutunut valtakunnalliseen pitkäaikaisasunnottomuuden vähentämisohjelmaan ja laatinut toimeenpanosuunnitelman pitkäaikaisasunnottomuuden vä- hentämiseksi vuonna 2008. Helsinki lakkautti keskitetyt asunnottomien palvelut sulkemalla Asunnottomien sosiaalipalvelutoimiston vuonna 2009. Tämän seurauksena nykyisistä asunnottomista tai heidän asunnottomuutensa syistä ei ole saatavilla kattavaa tietoa. Contribution of observed multi frequency spectrum of Alfvén waves to coronal heating

Context. Whilst there are observational indications that transverse magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves carry enough energy to maintain the thermal structure of the solar corona, it is not clear whether such energy can be efficiently and effectively converted into heating. Phase-mixing of Alfvén waves is considered a candidate mechanism, as it can develop transverse gradient where magnetic energy can be converted into thermal energy. Babesia sugu molekulārģenētiskā izpēte suņu asins un ērču paraugos Latvijā

Babēzija ir vienšūnu eikariotisks organisms, kurš parazitē mugurkaulnieku eritrocītos, izraisot infekcijas slimību- babeziozi. To izplatība ir tieši saistīta ar tā vektora izplatību, kas, galvenokārt, ir cietās ērces. Darba mērķis: izmantojot molekulārās metodes detektēt babēziju sugas patogēnus ērču, kā ari suņu asins paraugos Latvijā, un salīdzināt babēziju prevalences izmaiņas piecu gadu laikā. Kopumā ir analizēti 632 ērces, kas noņemtas no suņiem 2011. un 2016. gadā, kā arī 11 suņu asins paraugi. Tika veikta babēziju sugu noteikšana un filoģenētiskā analīze.
