Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan ikääntyneiden perhehoitoa, jolla tarkoitetaan ikääntyneen henkilön lyhyt-, osa-aikais- tai pitkäaikaishoitoa ja asumista perhehoitajan kodissa. Artikkelin tarkoituksena on tunnistaa tekijöitä, jotka ovat perhehoidon taustalla ja joiden varassa perhehoitoa kehitetään ikääntyneiden hoivan yhdeksi vaihtoehdoksi. The aim of this thesis is to assess how the discoursesof migration and multiculturalism arebeendepicted in the Finnish and Canadian policy documents. This was assessed by using the concept of governmentality and multiculturalism as the theoretical framework of the study. The focus of this article is the development of Finnish museums since the 1970s, when the Ministry of Education started to understand the social benefits of museums as social memory organizations with activities of research and education. At this point in time the Ministry began actively developing the preconditions for museum work, the main ”tools” being several political museum committees which created a museum hierarchy and network, ensured state subsidy through museum acts, established university studies of museology, and gave support to the Finnish Museums Association.

This chapter describes the general history of research and development work in the Finnish pulp and paper industry from the mid-nineteenth century until roughly 1990, a period that witnessed it undergo drastic changes because of the altered political environment in Europe and general globalization. The article focuses on masculine consumption patterns and the production and dyeing of textiles in rural Finland in the early nineteenth century. It maintains that the rural consumption of textiles as well as individual choices and tastes evolved, and our selected examples of males’ wardrobes demonstrate that contemporary styles were followed.
