This work adopts a survey sampling point of view to estimate the mean curve of large databases of functional data. When storage capacities are limited, selecting, with survey techniques a small fraction of the observations is an interesting alternative to signal compression techniques. We propose here to take account of real or multivariate auxiliary information available at a low cost for the whole population, with semiparametric model assisted approaches, in order to improve the accuracy of Horvitz-Thompson estimators of the mean curve. Mamluk Reproductions: Survey and Analysis of Tombs in the Cemetery of Sant’Orsola in Palermo.

The contribution presents a study of various funeral chapels found in the cemetery of Sant'Orsola in Palermo. Realised during the 19th and 20th centuries, they van be taken as examples of Sicilian Orientalism. An original reading of the Rutelli Chapel, starting from the unpublished survey of its current state, provides an understanding of its geometry and morphology. The survey was conducted using the techniques of Structure from Motion. The Rutelli Chapel offers a very interesting example of architecture that demonstrates several similarities with some Mamluk mausoleums in Cairo.

The parochial church of Santa Águeda in Sotillo de la Ribera, located in the province of Burgos, Spain is the object of the works of graphical documentation using different methods of survey, which provide a material with different levels of precision, here analysed and confronted. The value of documentation of buildings never surveyed before, enables a much more thorough formal analysis and offers the possibility of contrasting cases with similar features within the territory. The “Harvesting Memories” project focuses on the study of long-term landscape transformations as a diachronic result of the interaction between socio-economic human patterns and environmental and ecological trends in a rural area of Central-Western Sicily. The aim of this paper is to present the results of the archaeological survey carried out in Castro/Giardinello Valley and the Mt. Barraù area (Corleone, Palermo). Il progetto Harvesting Memories è finalizzato allo studio delle interazioni tra dinamiche umane e fattori ecologici che nella lunga durata hanno contribuito alla formazione dei paesaggi rurali. L’area di studio è localizzata tra Corleone e Campofiorito (Palermo) nei pressi delle contrade Castro e Giardinello e lungo le pendici occidentali di Monte Barrù. This research is focused on the virtual reconstruction of the Ionic cornice of temple G of Selinunte, as a case study for the definition of a virtual reconstruction method of collapsed walls elements in archaeological contexts. The complexity of the ruins of the temple suggested a thorough archaeological analysis of the fragments of the Ionic cornice that made it possible to identify traces of the construction process left by stonecutters during the worksite such as unfinished surfaces.
