The main accomplishment of the Property Regimes Regulations lies in their bringing more coherence into the cross-border family law adjudication. In the field of international jurisdiction, they strive to align the competence in couples? patrimony disputes to that in succession and in separation proceedings, or else to align the competence of the courts to the applicable law. A link between heritable parasite resistance and mate choice in dung beetles

Parasites play a central role in the adaptiveness of sexual reproduction. Sexual selection theory suggests a role for parasite resistance in the context of mate choice, but the evidence is mixed. The parasite-mediated sexual selection (PMSS) hypothesis derives a number of predictions, among which that resistance to parasites is heritable, and that female choice favors parasite resistance genes in males. Here, we tested the PMSS hypothesis using the dung beetle Onthophagus taurus, a species that can be heavily parasitized by Macrocheles merdarius mites, which are known to affect adult survival. The response to projected increase in dissolved organic carbon (DOC) loading to boreal lakes is being studied in lake Alinen Mustajärvi, a small humic lake in southern Finland, where labile DOC concentration has been artificially increased during 2008 and 2009 by monthly additions of cane sugar. As part of this wider project, in this thesis the responses of the zooplankton community to cane sugar addition were studied. Zooplankton samples were collected monthly in the ice-free periods of 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the mean densities and mean carbon biomasses of rotifers and crustacean zooplankton (cladocerans and copepods) were calculated. Block copolymers from ionic liquids for the preparation of thin carbonaceous shells

This paper describes the controlled radical polymerization of an ionic-liquid monomer by RAFT polymerization. This allows the control over the molecular weight of ionic liquid blocks in the range of 8000 and 22000 and of the block-copolymer synthesis. In this work we focus on block copolymers with an anchor block. They can be used to control the formation of TiO2 nanoparticles, which are functionalized thereafter with a block of ionic-liquid polymer. Pyrolysis of these polymer functionalized inorganic nanoparticles leads to TiO2 nanoparticles coated with a thin carbonaceous shell. Such materials may, e.g., be interesting as battery materials.
Embeddings of Danielewski hypersurfaces

In this thesis, we study a class of hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{C}^3$, called \emph{Danielewski hypersurfaces}. This means hypersurfaces $X_{Q,n}$ defined by an equation of the form $x^ny=Q(x,z)$ with $n\in\mathbb{N}_{\geq1}$ and $\deg_z(Q(x,z))\geq2$. We give their complete classification, up to isomorphism, and up to equivalence via an automorphism of $\mathbb{C}^3$. In order to do that, we introduce the notion of standard form and show that every Danielewski hypersurface is isomorphic (by an algorithmic procedure) to a Danielewski hypersurface in standard form.
