The present study examines how immigrant artists view their intercultural identity formation and development process through art making. The study is based on a theoretical foundation combining the concepts of identity, immigration and art. Tarkastelen pro gradu -tutkielmassani sitä, minkälaiseksi taideilmiöksi verkkotaidetta vastaanottavat henkilöt verkkotaiteen kuvaavat, kuinka he sitä määrittävät ja miten he paikantavat sen taiteen kentälle. Samalla olen tarkastellut, mihin taidetta ja yhteiskuntaa koskeviin keskusteluihin verkkotaide tutkimuksen aineistossa paikannetaan. Tutkimuksen aineisto on kerätty kirjoituspyynnön avulla. Kirjoituspyyntöä levitettiin sähköpostin avulla ja se julkaistiin myös internetissä. Olen lähestynyt aineistoa diskurssianalyyttisestä näkökulmasta.
