This article examines speculative design's capacity to co‐produce knowledge about contradictions and potentialities of work in professional ice hockey. Building on the Deleuzian concept of assemblage, speculative design has been used for two purposes: (a) to bring together the perspectives of art, anthropology, discourse studies, and professional sports in co‐constructing knowledge about hockey work; and (b) to analyze and present the key findings of an ethnography on hockey work through an art exhibition of speculative hockey memorabilia. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa käsitellään kuukautisveren symboliikkaa taiteessa. Tutkimuskohteina ovat Hanni Haapaniemen kolme kuukautisverellä maalattua Neitsyt Maria -aiheista teosta. Tutkimuskysymys voiko lika rikkoa pyhän idean? johdattaa selvittämään pyhän käsitteen muodostumista sekä kansanuskon että kristinuskon konteksteissa, sillä yhteisöt ovat jo ennen kirkkouskontojen syntymistä erottaneet pyhää määrittäneet kohteensa profaanista erilaisin tabusäännöin määritellyin rajanvedoin. Karl Herman Renlundin taidekokoelma aikansa aatteiden merkkinä Kandintutkielmassani avaan Kokkolalaislähtöisen rautakauppiaan, Karl Herman Renlundin elämänsä aikana kerätyn taidekokoelmaa ja sen luonnetta oman aikansa aatemaailmaa vasten peilaten. Tutkimusta määrittelee kaksi näkökulmaa; kansallisuusaatteen muotoutuminen ja sen vaikutus taidemaailmaan ja taiteeseen sekä taiteenkeräily ja mesenaattius. Since the 1920s and 1930s, constructivist and concretist visual art movements have stressed geometric forms, proportions and orders as a base for artistic expressions and aesthetic experiences. After the World War II geometric form was adopted to the public sculpture. Abstract, geometrically constructed sculpture was also used in commemorative functions in modern monument art. Symbol, Munch and creativity: metabolism of visual symbols

In this dissertation the relationship between visual symbols and creative thinking is studied through visual, textual and conceptual analysis. The first part of the work focuses on the concept of symbol, the second part on the imagery of Edvard Munch (1863–1944), and the third part on creative thinking. The problematics of visual symbols is approached through the concept of metabolism by assuming that both perceivable and non-perceivable properties of symbols can transform when symbols are used.
