Digitaalisen koealustan pilotointi Yleisissä kielitutkinnoissa

Yleiset kielitutkinnot ovat siirtymässä asteittain digitaaliseen muotoon. Tässä artikkelissa esitellään lyhyesti tätä muutosprosessia sekä kerrotaan maahanmuuttajille järjestetystä digitaalisen koealustan pilotoinnista ja sen tuloksista. Pilotti toteutettiin Lahdessa kotoutumiskoulutukseen osallistuvien maahanmuuttajien kielitaidon testauksella. Heidän kielitaitonsa vaihteli kielten yleiseurooppalaisen viitekehyksen tasojen A1 ja B1 välillä. This study addresses the little studied context of English language education in Eritrea. Despite the teaching of English as a subject and the forward-looking mother tongue policy implemented in Eritrean elementary education, Eritrean students struggle to cope with English as the medium of instruction from the start of junior school to the end of tertiary education. Parental Teaching of Reading and Spelling Across the Transition From Kindergarten to Grade 1

We investigated the longitudinal links between parental teaching of reading and spelling and children’s word reading and spelling skills. Data of 244 Lithuanian parent–child dyads were analyzed, who were followed across three time points: end of kindergarten (T1; Mage = 6.88; 116 girls), beginning of Grade 1 (T2), and end of Grade 1 (T3). The children’s word reading and spelling skills were tested, and the parents answered questionnaires on the frequency with which they taught their children reading and spelling. This article discusses raciolinguistic ideologies in the Finnish educational context. Ethnographic interviews and observational data gathered during 2015–2020 from two young males who came to Finland from the Middle-East in autumn 2015 as unaccompanied minors were analysed applying the small stories approach.
