Tämä kandidaatintutkielma käsittelee sukupuolta ja sen roolia erilaisissa kielenkäyttötilanteissa, erityisesti juoruilussa. Although crosstalk between salicylic acid and auxin affects plant disease resistance, molecular mechanisms of this process have not yet been uncovered in details. Mutations disrupting cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel 4 (CNGC4) affect SA-mediated disease resistance in barley Hordeum vulgare and in A. thaliana. The SMART SPEECH Project is a joint venture between three Finnish universities and a Chilean university. The aim is to develop a mobile application that can be used to record classroom talk and enable observations to be made of classroom interactions. We recorded Finnish and Chilean physics teachers’ speech using both a conventional microphone/dictator setup and a microphone/mobile application setup. The recordings were analysed via automatic speech recognition (ASR). The average word error rate achieved for the Finnish teachers’ speech was under 40%. Despite the popularity of research on intrapersonal communication across many disciplines, there has been little attention devoted to the factors that might account for individual differences in talking to oneself. In this paper, I explore two possible explanations for who people might differ in the frequency of their self-talk. According to the “social isolation” hypothesis, spending more time alone or having socially-isolating experiences will be associated with increased self-talk. Immediacy and distance in teacher talk—A comparative case study in German elementary- and outdoor school-teaching

This case study examines authentic speech acts by a German primary school teacher in the classroom context and the outdoor learning location of a forest. The study will compare the degree of linguistic immediacy or distance in these two contexts, respectively. Once a week, the class is doing “outdoor school” [Draußenschule] in places of natural or cultural interest near to their school. This article presents part of a master´s degree research, which focused on investigating causes, symptoms, and strategies used by tertiary flute players to cope with music performance anxiety in the performance of an unaccompanied flute work in recital of evaluative character.
