Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella musiikin vaikutusta katsojan tulkintaan ja odotusten syntymiseen elokuvan Funny Games (1997) avauskohtauksen kautta. Kohtauksessa soiva musiikki on nähty kuvastavan elokuvan yleistä tunnelmaa ja juonta erittäin hyvin ja tämän vuoksi musiikin on nähty viestivän katsojalle sisällöltään epämukavasta elokuvasta. Tutkimusta varten haastateltiin yhteensä kolmea yliopisto-opiskelijaa, jotka katsoivat lyhyen ja pitkän version kohtauksesta ja sen pohjalta kertoivat näkemyksistään elokuvan jatkosta ja kohtauksen sisällöstä. Quality management in the public sector accounting department - (un)avoidable quality costs and unlikely financial impacts

This paper investigates the nature of quality costs and the likelihood of their having financial impacts in the public sector. An illustrative quality development case project in an accounting department of a Finnish city administration is presented. The empirical data includes answers to a qualitative project question sheet, workshop material and participative observation. Quality problems are classified according to their quality cost category and the extent to which they are avoidable. Some of the quality costs proved unavoidable and some are likely to lack financial impact, exhibiting sticky cost behaviour. Risk assessment of gypsum amendment on agricultural fields: Effects of sulfate on riverine biota

Gypsum (CaSO4 ∙ 2H2 O) amendment is a promising way of decreasing the phosphorus loading of arable lands, and of thus preventing aquatic eutrophication. However, in freshwaters with low sulfate concentrations, gypsum-released sulfate may pose a threat to the biota. To assess such risks, we performed a series of sulfate toxicity tests in the laboratory and conducted field surveys. These field surveys were associated with a large-scale pilot exercise involving spreading gypsum on agricultural fields covering 18% of the Savijoki River catchment area. The gypsum amendment in such fields resulted in about fourfold increase in the mean sulfate concentration for a 2-month period, and a transient, …

Few studies have looked or presented the meaning of music performance anxiety from the viewpoint of young musician´s. Whereas most of the studies conducted were quantitative, this study used qualitative approach of phenomenology. The aim of this study was to investigate the experience of young musicians dealing with higher amount of music performance anxiety in clinical music therapy group. The study addressed questions about the role of the group, shared experiences in music and the role of free discussions in therapy. Attitudes and motivation in the treatment of IPV : a case study of two intimately violent men

This case study used qualitative content analysis to examine the cases of two intimately violent men. Both participated in a group intervention but experienced dramatically different outcomes. In the case of "Henri", the intervention was especially successful, but in the case of "Mikael" it was unsuccessful. The data of this study consisted of the video tapes of the men’s therapy sessions, and of the interviews of their spouses. Stakeholder theory (SHT) emphasizes that different stakeholders and their interests need to be identified and addressed to maximize firm performance. This emphasis can make the design of performance measurement systems (PMS) challenging because the interests of stakeholders are often in conflict. Based on previous research and using stakeholder and resource dependency theories, we develop a theoretical model suggesting that resource dependency acts as a “filter” in selecting which of the PMS design measures are emphasized for decision making. Tämä maisterintutkielma on tapaustutkimus, jossa tarkastellaan syksyllä 2014 alkaneen viskikohun leimahduksen elinkaarta. Elinkaaren rakentamiseksi eritellään julkisen leimahduksen vaiheet, niissä vallinneet tunnetilat ja merkittävimmät sitouttamisen tavat. Samalla selvitetään, osoittiko kohu merkkejä uudesta leimahduksesta noin vuoden aikana. Tutkielman yhtenä tärkeimmistä viitekehyksistä toimii Aulan ja Åbergin (2012) teoria leimahtavien julkisuuksien elinkaaresta. Ylemmän tason viitekehyksenä mukaan on otettu myös Coombsin tilannekohtaisen kriisiviestinnän teoria (2007b), jossa viestintäkriisin elinkaari jaetaan vaiheisiin.
