Crossing the magical barriers of art : Social class, authorship and capital in the contemporary Finnish literary field

This article examines how social class origin is experienced to affect the trajectories of becoming and being an author in the context of the contemporary Finnish literary field. It analyzes authors’ experiences of social class, artistic work and authorship in a theoretical framework that draws from the work of Pierre Bourdieu and Beverley Skeggs, particularly the concepts of economic and cultural capital, habitus and inscription. Tutkimus tarkasteli perhetaustan vaikutusta korkeasti koulutettujen työmarkkina-asemaan 2000-luvun Suomessa. Ilmiötä tutkittiin European Social Surveyn vuoden 2008 Suomen aineistolla. Aineiston kolmannen asteen tutkinnon suorittaneet jaettiin vanhempien ammattiasemaan perusteella kahtia yläluokkaisten ja muiden jälkeläisiin. Eritaustaisten korkeasti koulutettujen työmarkkina-asemia vertailtiin tarkastelemalla heidän sijoittumista työssä vaadittavien erityisten ammattitaitojen määrän, työn itsenäisyyden asteen ja tulojen mukaan määriteltyihin työntekijäryhmiin. Purpose To examine the associations between longitudinal physical activity (PA) patterns and the development of cardiometabolic risk factors from adolescence to young adulthood. This research explored how the use of a digital coach would affect self-efficacy related to physical activity and exercise among young elderly.
