Bortezomib induces in HepG2 cells IkappaBalpha degradation mediated by caspase-8.

The present paper demonstrates that the proteasome inhibitor bortezomib, which behaves as an apoptotic agent in hepatoma HepG2 cells, caused in these cells a decrease in IkappaBalpha level and a consequent increase in NF- kappaB activity. The effect already appeared at 4 h of treatment and preceded the onset of apoptosis which was observed at 24 h. Our results demonstrate that bortezomib-induced IkappaBalpha degradation occurred in conjunction with the activation of caspase-8; moreover, the decrease in IkappaBalpha level was prevented in a dose-dependent manner by the addition of z-IETD, a specific inhibitor of caspase-8. This study examines the indirect effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction among teachers during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. A sample of 322 teachers aged 23–71 (M = 45.37, SD = 8.99) participated in a cross-sectional online survey. Background and Objectives: Burnout is a psychological response to chronic work-related stress of an interpersonal and emotional nature. Brazilian law have already contemplated burnout syndrome as a mental and behavioural disorder related to work. The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of burnout in a sample of Brazilian teachers. Purpose: To assess the usefulness of a dedicated questionnaire for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) treated with biological drugs for the detection of ocular extraintestinal manifestations (EIMs). IBD can cause extraintestinal symptoms including ocular complaints which are frequently ignored and may be associated with significant morbidity, including blindness. Two science teaching workshops for students of the elementary teacher education degree course at the University of Palermo, Italy are discussed, one based on inquiry-based methods and the other on "traditional" teaching methods.
