Visual and semi-automated exploration of an archaeological model: calibrating a model of spatial reorganization in North-Western Europe, A.D. 800 to …

2017

International audience; Most often, when building a model, the modeller has to choose between two types of methods forevaluating its model. (1) The “face validation”, based on a visual and qualitative assessment of the model outputs, allows for a quick and direct feedback of the model behaviour considering the different values of parameters used. (2) More recently, and to have a more pervasive method of exploration, many modellers leant on High-Perfomance Computing to develop automated ways of exploring models often based on full factorial designs or on more parsimonious methods like genetics algorithms. In this presentation, we advocate for combining the efficiency of the automated explorat…

La créativité des équipes de travail : comprendre l’ambivalence de la diversité

2020

This thesis focused on the role of diversity on the functioning of work teams. He responded to the ambiguity of the literature’s findings and to the call of many authors to pay more attention to the processes underlying the impact of diversity. On the one hand, this work has adopted a minimalist approach and proposed the virtual accomplice paradigm to isolate the sociocategorical part of diversity. On the other hand, he used creativity, rather than performance, as a tool of understanding, because it involves specific sociopsychological issues. By inducing a simple perception of cultural diversity, we observed a decrease (especially qualitative) in divergent thinking among participants who h…

A. Bavelas, 1950, Communication Patterns in Task-Oriented Groups. Version bilingue et commentée

2021

“At worst it leads to madness.” A phenomenographic approach on how early childhood education professionals experience emotions in teamwork

2022

Teamwork is a key part of almost any person’s working life. At its best, teamwork embodies a good team spirit and increases employee well-being, but at its worst, a team is characterized by mistrust or competition between members where action and development is not possible. In this study we explored what types of emotions early childhood education professionals experience during teamwork. These questions are answered with the help of a phenomenographic approach. As a theoretical frame, in this study, we utilize Warr’s (2012) Affective circumplex model. According to our results the ECE professional’s experienced emotions can be mostly described through the categories of enthusiasm, anxiety,…

2019

The purpose of this paper is to clarify and analyse the understanding of the values for Ambulance personnel, to compare and integrate it with the system of competencies used in the performance assessment and evaluation of professional competence. The results of State Emergency Medical Service ambulance personnel’s survey in the 2018 are analysed in the research. The results obtained Ambulance personnel’s different understanding of the importance of organization's values and its impact in management, staff attitude and work performance. Multiverse Ethnography: A Qualitative Method for Gaming and Technology Use Research

2021

This article introduces multiverse ethnography as a systematic team-based qualitative method for studying the mechanical, structural and experiential properties of video games and other technological artefacts. Instead of applying the ethnographic method to produce a single in-depth account, multiverse ethnography includes multiple researchers carrying out coordinated synergetic ethnographic work on the same research object, thus producing a multiverse of interpretations and perspectives. To test the method, 41 scholars carried out a multiverse ethnography on two video games, Cyberpunk 2077 and Among Us. Explorative thematic findings regarding both titles are reported and methodological imp…

Performance under Pressure on the Court: Evidence from Professional Volleyball

2018

This study analyzes how psychological pressure affects performance. It refers to the discussion on differences between choking, i.e., an acute performance decline under pressure and under- performance under pressure. When performance outcomes are not defined binary even slight performance decrements can have huge consequences for future career. To study the conse- quences of psychological pressure on performance, we employ data on the serving performance of 213 professional volleyball athletes in 226 matches. We do not find any evidence for the existence of severe performance decrements under pressure (i.e. choking). However, athletes serve less effectively under pressure, i.e., they serve …

Citrus somatic hybrid leaf essential oil

2000

The essential oil from the leaves of a Citrus interspecific somatic hybrid obtained by symmetric protoplast fusion between ‘Milam’ lemon [purported sexual hybrid of C. Jambhiri Lush (×) C. sinensis] and ‘Femminello’ lemon (C. limon L. Burm f.) has been characterized by steam distillation GC–MS analysis and its composition compared with that of the corresponding oils obtained from the parent plants. The amount (%) of the different classes of substances present in the oils show, in the new hybrid, an overall lowering of the hydrocarbon fraction and an increase of the oxygenated components. The somatic hybrid shows a close similarity in the amounts of terpenes, sesquiterpenes and alcohols with…

Composition of the essential oil fromflowerheads ofChrysanthemum coronarium L.(Asteraceae) growing wild in Southern Italy

2004

The essential oils from the aerial parts of Chrysanthemum coronarium L. (Asteraceae) growing wild in two different localities of Southern Italy, Lascari (L) and Palinuro (P), were obtained by hydrodistillation in a 0.13-0.16% yield. The oils were analysed by GC and GC-MS; 68 constituents, amounting to 89.0% of the oil (L), and 43 constituents, amounting to 91.6% of the oil (P), were identified. The trans-spiroketal-enol ether 2-(2,4- hexadiynylidene)-1,6-dioxaspiro(4,4)non-3-ene (trans-tonghaosu) with chrysanthenyl and lyratyl esters and camphor were the main components of the oils.
