This is due to the topography of the country with its many lakes and to the fact that the vast waterways in their natural state were easily navigable. The construction of canals resulted in even more extensive interconnected inland waterways. The current study aims to explore team teaching as it is manifested in bilingual interactional patterns in a preschool classroom in Finland. The data was collected in a preschool classroom where a bilingual pedagogy in Finnish (majority language) and Swedish (minority language) was implemented with monolingual Finnishspeaking children. Video recordings were made while two teachers with different predefined language roles were team teaching a class of 20 children during two circle times. Artikkelissa analysoidaan virtuaalitiimien vuorovaikutustehtäviä (engl. task), joilla tarkoitamme tiimin toteuttamia vuorovaikutustoimintoja, kuten tuen jakamista, ideointia ja päätöksentekoa. Ryhmäviestinnän tutkimustraditiossa vuorovaikutustehtävä on nähty merkittävänä tiimin vuorovaikutuksen rakentumisessa. Tiimin rakenteistumisen näkökulmien mukaan tiimi tuottaa ja uusintaa rakenteitaan – kuten vuorovaikutustehtäviään – vuorovaikutuksessa.
