Stress-strain analysis of specimens subjected to tensile loading during moisture uptake
2015
Abstract: A robust and efficient numerical method for the calculation of the internal stress state that develops within structures subjected to mechanical and steady state or transient hygroscopic loading conditions, has been developed. The method encompasses a layer by layer approach whereby the structure is discretised into plies with different material properties corresponding to the different ply moisture content. The proposed method has been validated against finite element solutions, and results from its application on a fully characterised EDT (technical name) polymer binder are presented. The impact of the moisture induced viscoelastic behaviour on the structural response of the cas…
Trajetória docente na transição e na apropriação de tecnologias digitais em práticas de ensino
2018
This study focused on the appropriation of digital technologies by two teachers as an instrument of teaching and instruction in secondary school. We are interested in the teaching trajectory in the transition from traditional practices to hybrid learning contexts. We use mixed methods based on the Grounded Theory and contribution of Theory of Activity and dialogic approach. We chose qualitative research with audio-recorded interview, documental source and field observations of interactions between students in a hybrid context of learning. The main results indicated that the teacher trajectory passes through technological appropriation in: a) conventionalization of a symbolic and semiotic fi…
GoKoan: Una plataforma e-learning de apoyo al estudio en estudiantes universitarios
2018
[EN] In this paper GoKoan is presented as an e-learning platform which supports in-person education in the university. In the present study, a total of 175 students on the "Psychology of Memory" course from the Psychology Degree of the Universitat de València participated, 88 of them were part of the control group and 87 of the experimental group. The experimental group conducted the study in two phases: 1) Learning phase: the content of the course was presented fragmented for study, with evaluations of each content until they were learned. 2) Review phase: multiple choice exams were done to review of the whole subject. The reviews were progressively grouped into blocks with a higher conten…
The role of Ga and Bi doping on the local structure of transparent zinc oxide thin films
2021
The experiment at HASYLAB/DESY was performed within the project I-20180036 EC. The research leading to this result has been supported by the project CALIPSOplus under the Grant Agreement 730872 from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020. Filipe Correia is grateful to the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT, Portugal) for the Ph.D. Grant SFRH/BD/111720/2015. Joana Ribeiro is grateful to the Project WinPSC - POCI-01-0247-FEDER-017796, for the research grant from the Agência Nacional de Inovação, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (COMPETE 2020), under the…
(Liquid + liquid) equilibria of polymer-salt aqueous two-phase systems for laccase partitioning : UCON 50-HB-5100 with potassium citrate and (sodium …
2012
Aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) are recognized as very suitable techniques for the recovery of target solutes in biological applications. Three new phase diagrams of (UCON 50-HB-5100 + potassium citrate + water), (UCON 50-HB-5100 + sodium formate + water), and (UCON 50-HB-5100 + potassium formate + water) systems were measured at 23 C. The binodal curves were successfully described using the empirical equation suggested by Merchuk and co-workers. The reliability of the tie-line data experimentally determined was evaluated using the equations reported by Othmer–Tobias and Bancroft and satisfactory linearity was obtained for all ATPS. Among the salts studied, potassium citrate proved to be t…
