Catalytic and photocatalytic tests for 2-propanol dehydration to propene were successfully carried out by using binary materials obtained by supporting a Keggin heteropolyacid H3PW12O40 (PW12) via impregnation method and/or solvothermal treatment. Abstract The present work proposes an experimental optical methodology able to measure the transient swelling stresses induced by the water uptake ageing of polymers. In particular, the work describes the implementation of a Photoelastic technique to quantify internal stresses arising during the hydrothermal ageing of cast epoxy samples. The material investigated is a model DGEBA/DDS epoxy system. Curing and post-curing cycles have been optimised in order to obtain a fully cured, high T g , and completely stress free initial condition. Characteristics of sourdoughs and baked pizzas as affected by starter culture inoculums

Previous investigations on pizza dough lactic acid bacteria (LAB) revealed that facultative heterofermentative species (FHS) were more represented than obligate heterofermentative species (OHS) within the Lactobacillus genus. Thus, the main hypothesis of this work was that facultative and obligate heterofermentative Lactobacillus species can impact differently the appreciation of baked pizza. The influence of the nature of the surface oxide on the adhesive fracture energy of aluminium-bonded joints as measured by T-peel tests

Abstract Modification of aluminium alloy substrates microstructure and morphology by depositing new oxide layers on top of the metal surface has been investigated, with the aim of improving adhesion. The effect of treating the metal with boiling water or immersing it in a cerate bath has been studied by means of electron microscopy, contact angle measurements and peeling tests. The formation of pseudoboehmite layers or cerium conversion coatings both led to an increase in joint's adhesive fracture energy and more durable adhesive bonds with respect to joints obtained with “mechanically grinded only” substrates.
