Financial Behaviour Under Economic Strain in Different Age Groups: Predictors and Change Across 20 Years

AbstractThe present study examined the multiple micro- and macro-level factors that affect individuals’ financial behaviour under economic strain. The following sociodemographic and economic factors that predict financial behaviour were analysed: age group, year of data gathering, and attitudes towards consumption (economical, deprived, and hedonistic). Subjective financial situations and demographic characteristics were controlled for. Violence against women (VAW) is a global social problem. In India, its high prevalence is connected to gender inequality, whereas Finland suffers from the so-called Nordic Paradox—that is, the existence of both gender equality and a high prevalence of VAW. This qualitative study employed a critical constructioniist approach and frame analysis to analyze data from interviews with Finnish (n =20) and Mumbai (n =18) social workers. Abstract Background Obesity and ethnicity play important roles in cardiovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study aimed to compare cardiometabolic risk profiles between Chinese and Finnish older adults of central obesity with prediabetes or T2DM. Methods Study subjects were 60–74 years old and originated from two population samples. This study evaluated changes in psychosocial factors and self-reported physical activity (PA) among the sample of Finnish men who underwent the fitness tests during the national health campaign. Another aim was to examine whether the fitness test feedback was a meaningful experience for PA change. Baseline data were collected in 2011 by fitness test and questionnaire. Men who had low/moderate fitness along with overweight ( n = 361) were recruited to the postcampaign study in 2014. Tutkielmassani tarkasteltiin työn hallintamahdollisuuksien ja sosiaalisen tuen suoria sekä puskuroivia yhteyksiä työntekijän koettuun hyvinvointiin, kun hyvinvoinnin mittareina olivat psyykkinen sekä somaattinen oireilu. Tutkielmassani haluttiin myös selvittää, onko sukupuolella merkitystä sille, miten työn hallintamahdollisuudet ja sosiaalinen tuki ovat yhteydessä työntekijän koettuun hyvinvointiin (sukupuoli yhteyksiä muuntavana tekijänä).
