Fundamento. La saturación arterial de oxígeno (SaO2) disminuye con la altitud. Objetivo. Conocer qué SaO2 presentan los montañeros sanos durante la ascensión a una montaña de más de 8.000 metros. Método. En una expedición al Gasherbrum II (8.035 m) se midió la SaO2 por pulsioximetría durante la marcha de aproximación, en el campamento base (a la llegada y un mes después), en los campamentos II y III, a 7.500 m durante el ataque y en la cumbre. Resultados. En la marcha de aproximación la SaO2 en Paiyu (3.365 m) fue del 92,9 ± 1,4% y en Gore II (4.250 m) del 85,0 ± 4,3%. Schistosoma haematobium infection is reported to facilitate the development of urogenital diseases. Its symptoms include haematuria, dysuria and tiredness, and it may cause cognitive decline in children. The prevalence of S. haematobium infection needs to be known in endemic areas and a mass treatment programme against the disease implemented. The purpose of this study has been to identify and analyse obstacles embedded in the school organisation that impede organisational development and improvement. The general findings show that the school structure comprised sub-groups and had characteristics of a diversified organisation. This led to dysfunctional discussions that challenged school development and improvement.
