Cells have the capacity to convert mechanical stimuli into chemical changes. This process is based on the tensegrity principle, a mechanism of tensional integrity. To date, this principle has been demonstrated to act in physiological processes such as mechanotransduction and mechanosensing at different scales (from cell sensing through integrins to molecular mechanical interventions or even localized massage). Reviewing the identity of the Maltese Polypodium (Polypodiaceae) – new evidence from morphology and flow cytometry

The first record of Polypodium from Gozo (Maltese Islands) was described as a new endemic taxon, Polypodium vulgare subsp. melitense, based on its unique set of morphological characters. It was treated as a novelty and designated as a subspecies of P. vulgare mainly due to the lack of paraphyses, the presence of 10–16 annular cells, and a mean spore length of 64 μm. The fern was reassessed by us employing a more rigid morphological analysis and the application of flow cytometry. Comparison of Alkoxy-substituted 4,4´-Distyrylbiphenyls and the Corresponding 4,4´-Distyrylbenzenes

Abstract Configurationally highly pure (E,E)-4,4´-bis(styryl)biphenyls 2a - e were obtained by Siegrist reactions of 4,4´-dimethylbiphenyl 3 and alkoxy-substituted benzaldimines (4a - e). DSC measurements have indicated different crystalline modifications of these conjugated compounds. The stilbenoid chromophores of 2a - e are compared to the stilbenoid chromophores in the OPV series, which have a similar length of conjugation. The intense fluorescence and the high transparency in the visible region are promising properties for an application of the donor-substituted compounds 2a - e in twophoton absorption (TPA) techniques.

Este documento presenta la colección de carteles y fotografías de los conciertos que organizó el Club de Música y Jazz del Johnny, los cuales, actualmente, forman parte de la colección de la Biblioteca Histórica Maqués de Valdecilla. En el presente artículo se expone el proyecto realizado para su conservación, catalogación y almacenamiento. Este trabajo fue realizado por la autora del mismo durante la realización del TFM (Trabajo de Fin de Máster) del Máster en Conservación de Patrimonio Cultural de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Según López García (2005: 162), el sistema de cinco tiempos simples (vengo, venía, vine, vendría, vendré) cubre las necesidades expresivas de los hispanohablantes, aunque los niños emplean menos y muchos hablantes adultos raramente usan otras formas. Los problemas se plantean cuando en lugar de hablar español necesitamos escribirlo y leerlo.
