Immune-mediated rippling muscle disease with myasthenia gravis: a report of seven patients with long-term follow-up in two.

We report seven patients with immune-mediated rippling muscle disease (iRMD) and AChR-antibody positive myasthenia gravis (MG) without germline caveolin-3 gene mutations. We describe the follow-up of two patients and the clinical features of five new patients (1 female, 4 male, aged 32 to 69 years). These presented with significant generalized, exercise-induced and electrically-silent muscle rippling with myalgia, combined with generalized MG. In two of the seven patients, MG appeared before iRMD. Mediastinal imaging excluded thymic alterations in all, although two had other coincident tumours. Bakalaura darbā veikts pētījums par Gaujas ielejas morfoloģiju lejasteces posmā. Darbā teorētiskajā daļā apzināti agrāk veikto pētījumu rezultāti par Gaujas ielejas ģeomorfoloģisko uzbūvi un veikta literatūras analīze par upju ieleju morfoloģisko uzbūvi un aluvialiem nogulumiem. Darbā rezultatā sagatavotas kartes, kuras balstītas uz Latvijas ģeotelpiskas informācijas aģentūras izveidoto LiDAR zemes virsmas modeli un autores veiktājiem kamerāliem un lauka pētījumiem. Iegūtie rezultāti apstrādāti izmantojot QGis, ArcMap, Streonet un Microsattion datorprogrammas. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina par Gaujas ielejas lejasteces sarežģīto uzbūvi un tas posmveidīgo attīstību deglaciācijas laikā. Darbs ie…
Plasma PAF-acetylhydrolase in patients with coronary artery disease: results of a cross-sectional analysis.

Inflammation underlies both onset and perpetuation of atherosclerosis. Plasma lipoproteins transport the platelet-activating factor-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) with potentially anti-inflammatory activities. Our aim was to determine whether PAF-AH activity was associated with inflammatory markers and with coronary artery disease (CAD). PAF-AH activity and a panel of inflammatory mediators were measured in plasma of 496 patients with CAD and in 477 controls; 276 patients presented with stable angina pectoris and 220 with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Fragment‐ and Negative Image‐Based Screening of Phosphodiesterase 10A Inhibitors

A novel virtual screening methodology called fragment‐ and negative image‐based (F‐NiB) screening is introduced and tested experimentally using phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) as a case study. Potent PDE10A‐specific small‐molecule inhibitors are actively sought after for their antipsychotic and neuroprotective effects. The F‐NiB combines features from both fragment‐based drug discovery and negative image‐based (NIB) screening methodologies to facilitate rational drug discovery. Maģistra darbs “Smilšaino nogulumu filtrācijas koeficienta noteikšanas metožu salīdzinājums” ir veltīts filtrācijas koeficienta noteikšanas problemātikai. Līdzšinējos pētījumos filtrācijas koeficienta vērtību izkliede starp laboratorijā, in situ un ar empīriskajiem vienādojumiem iegūtajām filtrācijas koeficientu vērtībām ir apskatīta maz. Tāpat līdz šim nav plašāk pētīts laboratorijā iegūto filtrācijas koeficientu vērtību, kas noteiktas ar dažādām iekārtām, atšķirības, kas arī nosaka tēmas aktualitāti. Maģistra darbs ir pētījums par glaciofluviālo reljefa formu izplatību, morfoloģiju, uzbūvi un to veidošanos Augšamatas pazeminājumā Vidzemes augstienē. Tas ietver detalizētus pētījumus par kēmu terasēm, ledāja kušanas ūdeņu baseiniem Amatas augšteces posmā no tās iztekas līdz pazeminājuma sašaurinājumam, kur to aptuveni iezīmē Ērgļu – Kosas autoceļš. Darbā izvērtēta pieejamā literatūra par glaciofluviālajām reljefa formām un kušanas ūdeņu baseiniem. Veikti lauka pētījumi, no kuriem svarīgākā informācija ir gūta veicot teritorijas izpēti ar rokas zondi.
