Questo articolo prova ad esaminare alcuni risultati principali nella ricerca sulla terapia di gruppo, così come le direzioni future di ricerca in questo ambito. Sono stati esaminati i risultati degli studi raccolti dal gruppo di ricerca del Dipartimento di Psicologia dell’Università di Palermo. Some overdetermined problems related to the anisotropic capacity

Abstract We characterize the Wulff shape of an anisotropic norm in terms of solutions to overdetermined problems for the Finsler p-capacity of a convex set Ω ⊂ R N , with 1 p N . In particular we show that if the Finsler p-capacitary potential u associated to Ω has two homothetic level sets then Ω is Wulff shape. Moreover, we show that the concavity exponent of u is q = − ( p − 1 ) / ( N − p ) if and only if Ω is Wulff shape.

On Serrin’s overdetermined problem in space forms

We consider Serrin’s overdetermined problem for the equation $$\Delta v + nK v = -\,1$$ in space forms, where K is the curvature of the space, and we prove a symmetry result by using a P-function approach. Our approach generalizes the one introduced by Weinberger to space forms and, as in the Euclidean case, it provides a short proof of the symmetry result which does not make use of the method of moving planes.

Multifunctions determined by integrable functions

Integral properties of multifunctions determined by vector valued functions are presented. Such multifunctions quite often serve as examples and counterexamples. In particular it can be observed that the properties of being integrable in the sense of Bochner, McShane or Birkhoff can be transferred to the generated multifunction while Henstock integrability does not guarantee it.

Quasi-linear parabolic equations with degenerate coercivity having a quadratic gradient term

We study existence and regularity of distributional solutions for possibly degenerate quasi-linear parabolic problems having a first order term which grows quadratically in the gradient. The model problem we refer to is the following (1){ut−div(α(u)∇u)=β(u)|∇u|2+f(x,t),in Ω×]0,T[;u(x,t)=0,on ∂Ω×]0,T[;u(x,0)=u0(x),in Ω. Here Ω is a bounded open set in RN, T>0. A correction method for dynamic analysis of linear continuous systems

A method to improve the dynamic response analysis of continuous classically damped linear system is proposed. As in fact usually, following a classical approach, a reduced number of eigenfunctions are accounted for and the response is evaluated by integrating the uncoupled differential equations of motion in modal space, neglecting the contribution of high frequency modes (truncation procedure). Metilazione del DNA in artrite reumatoide

Lo stato di metilazione del DNA genomico e del gene PTHrP è stato valutato con tecniche molecolari e citogenetiche in artrite reumatoide (AR), patologia autoimmune caratterizzata anche da alta incidenza di linfomi e da ipercalcemia per overespressione del gene PTHrP. La metilazione del DNA, infatti, ha un ruolo critico nello sviluppo delle malattie neoplastiche; il gene PTHrP avendo tre promotori uno dei quali contiene un’isola CpG è un buon candidato per la deregolazione da alterato pattern di metilazione locale. Settore BIO/18 - Geneticainstead chromosomes of controls were almost uniformly decorated by brilliant grains. Studies on methylation of PTHrP gene promoter 2 performed on five CpG island internal sites using the Methylation-Sensitive Restriction Endonuclease Multiplex (MSREM)-PCR showed that one of the sites nearest the trascription starting point is heavy methylated in a significantly high number of RA patients. Thus RA seems to be characterized by genomewide hypomethylation associated with local hypermethylation like the most part of tumors. This result raises the possibility that susceptibility to lymphomas is related to abnormal DNA methylation levels and suggests the opportunity to evaluate the DNA methylation status in RA patientin fact the demethylating therapies together with diet and life style can act towards an increase of tumor risk. Future studies using a larger number of subjects could confirm these findings.Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic multisystem inflammatory disease characterized by high recurrence of lymphomas as well as hypercalcemia due to PTHrP overexpression. Because of DNA methylation plays a critical role in development of neoplasias we determined in RA patients the global DNA methylation status and local methylation pattern of the CpG island of one of the three promoters of PTHrP gene utilizing molecular and cytogenetic techniques. Investigations performed on DNA from peripheral blood of patients and donors amplified by Methylation-Sensitive Arbitrarily Primed (MeS-AP)-PCR indicated that RA is strongly associated with global DNA hypomethylation. Similarly chromosomal DNA methylation pattern analysis by indirect immunofluorescence technique with anti 5-methylcitosine antibody showed all peripheral lymphocyte metaphases from RA patients with chromosomes weakly fluorescent without discrete grain

La ricostruzione dell'abside in alcuni esempi della seconda metà del XVI secolo a Palermo

Il contributo ha l’obiettivo di studiare alcuni casi di ricostruzione dell’abside eseguiti in edifici chiesastici palermitani nella seconda metà del XVI secolo. Si tratta delle chiese di San Sebastiano, San Francesco d’Assisi e San Martino delle Scale (all’interno dell’omonima abbazia), in cui, nella seconda metà del Cinquecento, per motivi liturgici, l’abside originaria viene “trasformata”, in un’abside “piatta”, al fine di potervi inserire il Coro ligneo. These are the churches of St. Sebastiano St. Francesco d’Assisi and St. Martino delle Scale (in the homonymous monastery) in wichfor liturgical reasons the original apse was "transformed" in a "flat" apse to insert in it the wooden choir. The new positioning of the choir after the Tridentine Reform was a central issue in the Europe of the modern age so even in Palermo there were some debates and controversies about this problem. The change of the shape of the apse determined in fact some considerable constructive problems related to its coverage.

Settore ING-IND/14 - Progettazione Meccanica E Costruzione Di MacchineAfter a thorough literature search on magnetorheological fluids their behavior and use it has gone to the design of a magnetorheological clutch for motor vehicles. Considering the characteristics of transmitted torque and power the device is dimensioned taking into account the constraints of space of the examined vehicle. Subjecting the device to magnetostatic finite element analysis it was determined the trend of the flow lines of the magnetic field in the gap of fluid and in areas of greater interest calculating the torque transmitted theoretically by the clutch. The performance comparison between a traditional clutch and a MR clutch was also performed pointing out that the MR clutch presents shorter response times with high energy savings. The study carried out shows that the device is well suited to a vehicle with automatic or robotic or otherwise with very short response times but requires a control system for the starting the vehicle.
