Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the complexity of the network governance setting affects accountability practices. The authors pay particular attention to the organizational characteristics that may enable a common understanding of multiple accountability relationships, or lead to problems in reconciling competing forms of accountability, thereby appearing as blame game-type behavior. How do online communities matter? Comparison between active and non-active participants in an online behavioral weight loss program

This paper contributes to the discussion on the potential of different social media platforms in health behavior change programs. More specifically, it compares the outcomes of participation in different online community platforms in an online behavioral weight loss program. Results show that active participants on online community platforms perceive their service experience more positively, follow instructions more precisely, have a more positive perception of achieving their goals, and also feel that they receive more social support than do those who do not actively participate in online community channels, although no differences were found related to weight loss itself. The case study reported here examined change processes and learning in a health care organization. The organizational change in question occurred in the emergency clinic of a Finnish central hospital where a new action model for shift-specific nursing supervision was being introduced. Patient education (PE) has a crucial role in the function of a healthcare organisation. For the care process of a patient, it is essential to get the right information at the right moment and in the right form. This paper analyses PE as the primary mode of interaction between a patient and a healthcare organisation. The approach is illustrated with a study among nurses based on their conceptions about PE. Työvoimapulan uhatessa ulkomaista työvoimaa koulutetaan nykyisin Suomessa erityisesti terveydenhoitoalalle esimerkiksi ammattikorkeakoulujen englanninkielisissä koulutusohjelmissa. Suomen kielen opinnot ovat olennainen osa koulutusta etenkin, jos opiskelijoiden toivotaan valmistuttuaan työskentelevän Suomessa. Opetuksen kehittäminen sekä opiskelijoiden että yhteiskunnan tavoitteita tukevaksi on tärkeää, ja sitä voidaan edistää tutkimuksellisella tiedolla.
