Care Workers’ Readiness for Robotization : Identifying Psychological and Socio-Demographic Determinants

Successful implementation of robots in welfare services requires that the staff approves of them as a part of daily work tasks. In this study, we identified psychological and socio-demographic determinants associated with readiness for robotization among professional Finnish care-workers. National survey data were collected from professional care workers (n = 3800) between October and November 2016. Random samples were drawn from the member registers of two Finnish trade unions. Mental Health Status of Healthcare Workers During the COVID-19 Outbreak

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is a massive health crisis that has exerted enormous physical and psychological pressure. Mental healthcare for healthcare workers (HCWs) should receive serious consideration. This study served to determine the mental-health outcomes of 1,556 HCWs from 45 countries who participated in the COVID-19 IMPACT project, and to examine the predictors of the outcomes during the first pandemic wave. The gap between behavioral risk status and willingness to change behavior among healthcare professionals

Aims: This study explored behavioral health risk factors among healthcare professionals and investigated the at-risk persons’ satisfaction with their health habits and ongoing change attempts. Methods: The study was based on a cross-sectional web-based survey directed at the nurses and physicians ( N = 1233) in Finnish healthcare. Obesity, low physical activity, smoking, and risky alcohol drinking were used as behavioral health risk factors. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin mitkä tekijät auttavat terveydenhuollon työntekijöitä puuttumaan lähisuhdeväkivaltaan. Kiinnostus kohdistui erityisesti siihen, minkä varassa työntekijät rakentavat puuttumista mahdollistavaa puhetta. Analyysissa lähtökohtana oli sosiaalisesti jaettu tieto, eli se, kuinka ihmiset yhdessä tulkitsevat ja rakentavat sosiaalisia ilmiöitä ja niiden merkityksiä. Tutkimme kahden vuoden seurantatutkimuksessa, miten muutosvoimavarat (viestintä, osallistuminen päätöksentekoon, muutostuki) ovat yhteydessä terveydenhuoltoalan henkilöstön työhyvinvointiin (työuupumus, työn imu) sekä työpaikan ja alanvaihtoaikeisiin organisaatiomuutoksen aikana. Tutkimukseen osallistui 303 sairaanhoitopiirin työntekijää, joista 87 prosenttia oli naisia ja potilastyössä toimivia 74 prosenttia.
