Validity of the compulsive exercise test in regular exercisers

Measurement of compulsive exercise is important for the study of eating pathology in individuals who regularly participate in sport and exercise. The current study examined the factor structure, internal consistency and validity of the compulsive exercise test (CET) in regular exercisers. Participants were recruited via the internet and from sport clubs (n = 313 adults; M = 32 years; 57% female). DEPS-testin luotettavuus ja pätevyys aikuisilla selkäpotilailla

The Depression Scale (DEPS) is a patient-reported outcome instrument developed to recognize depressive symptoms. This study measured the psychometric properties of the DEPS among patients with degenerative spinal disease. Altogether 637 patients were included in the analysis. Main research question was whether the DEPS would meet pertinent psychometric criteria for reliability and validity. The results of analyses supported the DEPS instrument as a reliable and valid test to measure depressive symptoms among adult patients with spinal disease fulfilling the psychometric criteria. nonPeerReviewed

Satunnaislukujen generointia hyödynnetään laajalti tietotekniikan alan eri sovellusalueilla, kuten kryptografiassa. Tässä tutkielmassa käsitellään eri tavoin jakautuneiden satunnaislukujen generointia ja erityyppisten generaattoreiden ominaisuuksia. Lisäksi tutkitaan satunnaislukugeneraattoreiden tilastollista testaamista ja havaintoaineiston hyödyntämistä satunnaislukuja generoitaessa.
Multiple mini-interviews as a selection tool for initial teacher education admissions

This study investigates the reliability of multiple mini interviews (MMIs) to select students for classroom and special education teacher programs (n = 418) using intraclass correlations and cross-classified multilevel modeling. The results indicated mostly small effects of clustering of applicants to different interviewers and five-station circuits. The largest variance components in the MMI total score were for applicants (63.3%) and measurement error (20.6%), while the variance component for the interviewer was relatively small (11.6–14.4%).
