Prompt Determination of the Mechanical Properties of Industrial Polypropylene Sandwich Pipes

A simple and prompt method to determine the mechanical properties of industrial multilayer extrusion polypropylene pipes for a gravity sewer network is suggested. The engineering formulas included for calculating the permissible thickness and relative position of a foam core in the pipes are based on a linear-elastic approximation and the rule of mixtures. The applicability of the approximation was justified experimentally during investigation of the effective tensile characteristics of single- and multilayer pipes and each layer specimen by using traditional tests and finite-element calculations. Lai arī cēloņsakarības vērtēšanai Latvijas deliktu tiesībās tiek izmantots sine qua non tests, attiecīgais tests ir nepilnīgs, jo tas nesniedz taisnīgu un loģisku risinājumu lietās, kur kaitējumu ir izraisījuši vairāki cēloņi. International audience; This paper reviews the most known international assessment studies that are conducted in the context of poor countries and highlights the lack of empirical evidence on the degree to which the contents of the tests really match countries' curricula. To illustrate, the paper evaluates the sensitivity of an international testing instrument by comparing the responses of students in two consecutive grades on the same battery of tests. Bakalaura darbā “Risku vadība publiskajā pārvaldē” pētīts risku vadības process valsts pārvaldes iestādēs Latvijā. Pētījumā veikta risku vadības dokumentu analīze, kā arī veiktas daļēji strukturētās intervijas ar Latvijas valsts pārvaldes iestāžu darbiniekiem, kas ikdienā auditē risku vadību. Pētījumā veikts riska inteliģences tests, kurš izveidots balstoties uz pētnieka Dilana Evansa teoriju. Pētījums sniedz padziļinātu ieskatu par risku vadību valsts pārvaldē, atklājot būtiskas nepilnības, kas ietekmē iestāžu risku vadības veiktspēju. Pētījums primāri saistošs tiem, kas strādā ar risku vadību gan publiskajā, gan privātajā sektorā, kā arī pētniekiem, kuri pēta risku vadību.

This qualitative study investigated the various linguistic, contextual, and experiential equivalence issues embedded in a performance-based instrument aimed at assessing generic skills in higher education. A rigorous translation and adaptation process (American English to Finnish) was conducted on one instrument, namely Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+) International. The data were obtained from cognitive laboratories (n = 13), with think-alouds and follow-up interviews conducted among Finnish undergraduate students. Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 28 lapām. Tajā ir 24 attēli, 4 tabulas, 27 literatūras avoti. Darba mērķis: noskaidrot, vai izmantojot matemātisko modeli var paredzēt krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secības dažādu vecumu grupu pārstāvjiem bez krāsu redzes deficītiem. Metode: darbojoties ar matemātisko modeli, tika mainīts cilvēka vecums un noteikts krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secība Farnsworth D-15 testam. Rezultāti: matemātiskais modelis piefiksēja pirmas izmaiņas krāsu kauliņu sakārtošanas secībā 110 gadus vecam cilvēkam un konfūzijas lēņķis Vingrys & KingSmith metodē, kas ir vienāds ar -48,31°, norāda uz tritānam līdzīgo deficītu. Medicinal plants have been used as a source of remedies since ancient times in Egypt. The present study was designed to investigate the antibacterial activity and the cytotoxicity of the organic extracts from 16 selected medicinal plants of Egypt. The study was also extended to the isolation of the antiproliferative compound jaeschkeanadiol p-hydroxybenzoate (FH-25) from Ferula hermonis. Testa izvēle ir atkarīga no testēšanas mērķa, tomēr nav viennozīmīgu kritēriju, kas ļautu izvēlēties labāko testu fizisko darbaspēju novērtēšanai. Savukārt, visbiežāk izmantojamie parametri fiziskās sagatavotības novērtēšanai funkcionālo testu laikā ir sirdsdarbības frekvence un skābekļa patēriņš. Darba mērķis bija salīdzinoši izvērtēt skābekļa patēriņa un sirdsdarbības frekvences izmaiņu dinamiku vienādas jaudas slodzē, slodzi veicot uz veloergometra un slīdceliņa.
