Abstract Polyglutamine regions (polyQ) are highly abundant consecutive runs of glutamine residues. They have been generally studied in relation to the so-called polyQ-associated diseases, characterized by protein aggregation caused by the expansion of the polyglutamine tract via a CAG-slippage mechanism. However, more than 4800 human proteins contain a polyQ, and only 9 of these regions are known to be associated with disease. This chapter discusses the theatre of Andrei Șerban, definitely one of the most important theatre directors of the second half of the twentieth century. He began directing in Communist Romania in the 1960s and had to deal with censorship, so in order to avoid this uncomfortable context, he focused on interpreting the text—he constantly searched for new nuances and made use of all possible subtexts. The Relationship Between Safety Attitudes and Occupational Accidents

This research provides empirical evidence on the relationships between employee attitudes to safety issues and accident indicators in a Spanish context. The research attempts to review to what degree those attitudes reflect a collective, or shared, climate for safety within a number of organizations. Data were gathered from workers in a number of industries in Valencia (Spain) by questionnaire. A total of 1,234 valid questionnaires were completed and formed the basis for subsequent analysis. Kasiski's Test: Couldn't the Repetitions be by Accident?

Abstract In searching for repetitions in a periodic polyalphabetic ciphertext, we usually find several true (causal) repetitions that give information about the period. But we also find some accidental repetitions at distances unrelated to the period which may mislead the cryptanalyst. A simple formula shows that these accidents are rather unlikely.

[Context] It is thought that ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) are mainly powered by super-Eddington accreting neutron stars or black holes as shown by the recent discovery of X-ray pulsations and relativistic winds. Texture segmentation is one of the main tasks in image applications, specifically in remote sensing, where the objective is to segment high-resolution images of natural landscapes into different cover types. Often the focus is on the selection of discriminant textural features, and although these are really fundamental, there is another part of the process that is also influential, partitioning different homogeneous textures into groups. The economic crisis provides a unique chance to argue that a post-contentious turning point is emerging in spite of a long-standing tradition of protesting.
