We present a new class of binary words: the prefix normal words. They are defined by the property that for any given length $k$, no factor of length $k$ has more $a$'s than the prefix of the same length. These words arise in the context of indexing for jumbled pattern matching (a.k.a. permutation matching or Parikh vector matching), where the aim is to decide whether a string has a factor with a given multiplicity of characters, i.e., with a given Parikh vector. Abstract In this paper, we consider a finite-dimensional vector space 𝒫 {{\mathcal{P}}} over the Galois field GF ( p ) {\operatorname{GF}(p)} , with p being an odd prime, and the family ℬ k x {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{x}} of all k-sets of elements of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} summing up to a given element x. The main result of the paper is the characterization, for x = 0 {x=0} , of the permutations of 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} inducing permutations of ℬ k 0 {{\mathcal{B}}_{k}^{0}} as the invertible linear mappings of the vector space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p does not divide k, and as the invertible affinities of the affine space 𝒫 {\mathcal{P}} if p divides k. This paper is dedicated to the investigation of a particular discursive genre, that of philosophical autobiography. Although the dialogue between philosophers is not only about the doctrine they propose, but also about the genres through which they decide to communicate that doctrine, the philosophical autobiography is usually regarded as having no doctrinal value. In this genre the enunciative scene is made explicit, so that the ‘I’ who thinks coincides with the ‘I’ who writes and, in some cases, also with the ‘I’ who lives. We will investigate the enunciation procedures and, above all, the relations between enunciation and enunciatee.

Photodegradation of organic compounds in water solutions by means of economically advantageous and environment-friendly processes is a topic of growing interest. In recent years a great attention has been devoted to TiO2-based photocatalysts for the oxidative degradation of various organic pollutants. In this context, we have prepared new photo-catalytic polycrystalline TiO2 systems impregnated with sensitizers, i.e., copper, iron or manganese porphyrins, and investigated their photoactivity for 4-nitrophenol oxidation compared with that of bare TiO2. A recent expanded edition of the book Asterusher by Michele Mari (2015 and 2019) suggests some reflections on the completeness of autobiographical discourse. The composition of the autobiographical phototext, with a systematic tripartite form and inspired by the tradition of the emblem, is identical in the two versions. The addition of some pages has not changed the original structure of the volume but asks questions about the possibilities of revision and/or completion of an autobiographical narrative, about the possibilities of rewriting an autobiography in the form of a diary, almost like a “curriculum” with continuous updating.
