Protecting emergency workers and armed forces from volatile toxic compounds: Applicability of reversible conductive polymer-based sensors in barrier …

2019

International audience; Barrier materials have wide applicability in both professional (military, medical, industrial) and non-professional(leisure and sports) fields. This paper focuses on the preparation of real conductive polymer (CP) sensors, for thestudy of the permeation of volatile toxic compounds through barrier materials. Use of such a CP sensor can helpimprove the quality of barrier materials used in protective clothing. Several types of platforms have beenmanufactured or purchased for use as comb sensors with different electrode dimensions, and a suitable methodof applying the detection layer of conductive polymers (polyaniline and poly-pyrrole) has been developed. Prepared senso…

La pañería como alternativa económica de las serranías del interior valenciano (siglos XVIII y XIX)

1987

MEDIANTE LA UTILIZACION DE ALGUNAS FUENTES IMPRESAS SE COMPRUEBA LA EXISTENCIA, DURANTE LOS SIGLOS XVIII Y XIX, DE CINCO NUCLEOS PAÑEROS QUE PRODUCEN PARA MERCADOS EXTRALOCALES EN LAS SERRANIAS INTERIORES VALENCIANAS Y QUE CONCENTRAN CASI LA TOTALIDAD DE LA INDUSTRIA LANERA. EL ANALISIS DE LAS ESTRUCTURAS SOCIOECONOMICAS DE ALCOY, ENGUERA Y BOCAIRENTE EXPLICAN, COMO EN OTRAS ZONAS EUROPEAS, LA EXISTENCIA DE LA PAÑERIA COMO ALTERNATIVA ECONOMICA EN ESTAS ZONAS CON DIFICULTADES DE EXPANSION AGRARIA. Fashion-driven Textiles as A Crystal of A New Stream for Stakeholder Capitalism – Amazon's Endeavor

2020

Fashion reflects changes in socio-economic and cultural life which, in turn, changes fashion, and apparel boosts such change. Thus, in response to a shift in people’s preferences from economic functionality to supra-functionality beyond an economic value, the fashion industry has been gaining momentum worldwide. In the digital economy, the fashion industry is in the midst of global dynamic change stimulating volatility, velocity, variety and dynamism, which necessitate a digital solution. Digital business leader Amazon has succeeded in constructing an R&D-driven disruptive businesss model. This can be attributed to a virtuous cycle among user-driven innovation, advancement of the …

SIA "New Rosme" finanšurādītāju analīze un novērtēšna

2016

Fusayolas de la necrópolis de Olival do Senhor dos Mártires (Alcácer do Sal, Portugal) : tipología, función y simbolismo

2018

Assessment of bioavailability and effects of chemicals due to remediation actions with caging mussels (Anodonta anatina) at a creosote-contaminated l…

2002

A study was conducted at Lake Jämsänvesi in Central Finland, to identify the potential ecotoxicological risks of the remediation operation of a creosote-/PAH-contaminated lake sediment, made by capping during the years 1998-1999. Mussels (Anodonta anatina) were deployed to the lake at the same time as the remediation operation was started in November 1998. The contaminated area (0.5 ha) was covered by a filter geotextile (polypropylene), gravel and sand (1-1.5m) which were spread out on the ice and let to sink onto the bottom of the lake when the ice melted in May 1999. The possible impacts of capping to the adjacent environment were assessed from mussels exposed and particulate material se…

Uptake of organic xenobiotics by benthic invertebrates from sediment contaminated by the pulp and paper industry

2007

Abstract Uptake of pulp and paper mill-derived pollutants by benthic invertebrates from sediment in Southern Lake Saimaa, eastern Finland, was studied. Two groups of benthic invertebrates (Diptera and Oligochaeta) were analyzed for their concentrations of resin acids (RAs), chlorophenolics (CPs) and β -sitosterol. The samples were collected 1 and 3 km downstream from the mill. In laboratory experiments Chironomus plumosus (a dipteran) and Lumbriculus variegatus (oligochaete) were exposed for 14 d to sediments collected from the same locations. The concentrations of RAs, CPs and β -sitosterol were higher in the areas downstream from the mill than those in the upstream reference area in both …

Capturing the Resilience of the Textile Companies as a Specific Response of the Fashion industry

2021

This chapter examines the most recent innovative activities of textile companies in Spain and their expansion into sanitary textiles and digitalization. In light of the global crisis caused by the COVID-19, we consider highly relevant to review the challenges of one of the most important fashion sectors, e.g., the textile industry, through this evolutionary period and the resilience of clusters. From this territorial perspective, we explained the industry’s restructuring and survival through three main elements: companies, relationships, and institutions. Companies are fundamental because they pave the way forward with their strategic responses. Relationships or clustering is the interactio…
