A 10-Year Cone Beam Computerized Tomography Observation of the Buccal Bony Wall of an Immediately Placed Implant at the Anterior Maxilla: A Case Repo…
2017
Since the introduction of immediate implant placements, the buccal bony wall has been a major consideration for success due to its correlation with soft tissue contour and color. This report presents the stability of the buccal wall thickness of an immediately placed implant at the anterior maxilla over 10 years. Although the width of the buccal wall decreased at the 2-year post-op follow-up, it remained stable afterward according to cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) scans. Hence, this report suggests that ensuring adequate bony wall thickness with bone augmentation and fixture position may promise the longevity of the buccal bony wall and surrounding soft tissue in an immediate impl…
Role of polysialic acid (PSA) in the control of food intake and body weight
2013
Hypothalamus plays a major role in the regulation of energy homeostasis by the presence of neural circuits controlling food intake. These circuits are plastic and can be rewired during adulthood. We hypothesized that synaptic plasticity can occur during physiological conditions. We have shown that synaptic contact on hypothalamic anorexigen POMC neurons are rewired in mouse upon high fat diet (HFD). This synaptic process is mandatory to adjust energy intake and requires the glycan PSA (polysialic acid). PSA promotes synaptic plasticity in the brain by the weakening of cell-to-cell interaction by addition on NCAM (neural cell adhesion molecule). We hypothesized that a defect in brain synapti…

Diversité génétique et aromatique de la truffe de Bourgogne
2013
Truffles are ectomycorrhizal Ascomycota fungi belonging to the Tuberaceae family and more specifically to the Tuber genus. More than thirty Tuber species are currently described in Europe. In this thesis, we specifically focused on the Tuber aestivum-uncinatum model. This truffle is commonly called "Burgundy Truffle" and has a gastronomic and cultural interest. The first part of this thesis focused on the taxonomic status of the Burgundy truffle (Tuber uncinatum). For this, we used a multi-marker approach combining several genetic markers commonly used at the interspecific scale. Our analyses showed that the two taxa, Tuber aestivum (summer truffle) and Tuber uncinatum are conspecific. In the…
Prévalence de pathogènes humains dans les sols français, effet des facteurs pédoclimatiques, biologiques et du mode d'utilisation des sols
2013
Soil contamination by bacterial pathogens can occur through manure, sewage sludge spreading or irrigation using waste water treatment plants effluents. Agricultural soils may act as reservoirs for these pathogens, play a significant role in their dissemination, leading to the potential contamination of food and water resources. Health risk associated with the occurrence of pathogens in environmental matrices has to be thoroughly evaluated. In this context, the objectives of this work were: i) to determine the prevalence of two pathogenic bacterial species (Listeria monocytogenes and Enterococcus faecalis) in a large collection of French soils originated from a systematic soil survey of the …

La typicité d'une eau de vie de cognac : itinéraire technologique et lien au terroir
2015
Cognac spirits are made from the distillation of white wine, growing in a region delimitated into cru areas. According to the cru of origin of their wine, spirits are assumed to be typical, in a sensorial way. Then, physico-chemical and sensorial analysis were carried out in parallel in order to search for this supposed typicality of cru, in freshly distilled spirits such as in spirits after aging in oak barrels. A work of filiation of impact compounds in the wines was also done. No cru-specific compound was found and differences to put in evidence are thin. The cru effect was apparent only with selective sampling and specific methodology. Actually, several factors, such as distillation, ar…
Perception de la qualité du vin par les consommateurs
2011
In the recent years the wine consumption tends to decline, causing a world wine production surplus. Therefore, the wineries want to diversify their production to wines more qualitative and therefore more expensive. Thus, it is important to understand how the consumers perceived the wine quality. This work proposes a questionnaire measuring the perceived complexity of the wine. It demonstrated a strong link between the perception of the complexity and quality of a wine. The wines which are perceived like qualitative are wines concentrated in aromas persistent for the sensory point of view. Moreover, the sensory perception of quality is more correlated with the quality displayed by the market…
