Teollisen internetin määrittely kirjallisuudessa

2016

Teollisen internetin (engl. Industrial Internet) käsite ei ole täysin vakiintunut kirjallisuudessa. Sillä on useita erilaisia englanninkielisiä vastineita, joiden määrittelyt poikkeavat jonkin verran toisistaan. Teollisella internetillä tarkoitetaan usein teknologisia ratkaisuja, joilla pyritään luomaan teollisia sovelluksia prosessien optimointiin, tehostamiseen, mittaamiseen ja tarkkailuun. Laiteverkolla (engl. Internet of Things) taas tarkoitetaan teknologiaa, joka mahdollistaa internetin laajentumiseen tavanomaisilta alustoilta omaan ympäristöömme: vaatteisiin, huonekaluihin ja kulkuneuvoihin. Kirjallisuuskatsauksessa tutkittiin teollisen internetin määrittelyä kirjallisuudessa. Katsauk…

Discovery privacy threats via device de-anonymization in LoRaWAN

2021

LoRaWAN (Long Range WAN) is one of the well-known emerging technologies for the Internet of Things (IoT). Many IoT applications involve simple devices that transmit their data toward network gateways or access points that, in their turn, redirect data to application servers. While several security issues have been addressed in the LoRaWAN specification v1.1, there are still some aspects that may undermine privacy and security of the interconnected IoT devices. In this paper, we tackle a privacy aspect related to LoRaWAN device identity. The proposed approach, by monitoring the network traffic in LoRaWAN, is able to derive, in a probabilistic way, the unique identifier of the IoT device from…

Assessment of Cardiorespiratory Interactions during Apneic Events in Sleep via Fuzzy Kernel Measures of Information Dynamics

2021

Apnea and other breathing-related disorders have been linked to the development of hypertension or impairments of the cardiovascular, cognitive or metabolic systems. The combined assessment of multiple physiological signals acquired during sleep is of fundamental importance for providing additional insights about breathing disorder events and the associated impairments. In this work, we apply information-theoretic measures to describe the joint dynamics of cardiorespiratory physiological processes in a large group of patients reporting repeated episodes of hypopneas, apneas (central, obstructive, mixed) and respiratory effort related arousals (RERAs). We analyze the heart period as the targ…

Ion mobility spectrometry evaluation of cocaine occupational exposure in forensic laboratories

2014

An approach, based on ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) has been developed for the control of cocaine in air of the breathing zone of operators, in laboratory surfaces and in nasal mucus of employees to evaluate cocaine exposure in a forensic laboratory. The analytical methodology has been validated in terms of accuracy, precision and limits of detection and results obtained were statistically comparable with those obtained by liquid chromatography. Cocaine concentration in laboratory air increases from 100 ± 35 ng m(-3) of a normal day to 10,000 ng m(-3) during the manipulation of cocaine seizures. The occupational exposure limit (OEL) for cocaine has not been established which difficult the…

'Anestheticography': on-line monitoring and documentation of inhalational anesthesia.

1988

The safe practice of inhalational anesthesia requires control over the amount of volatile anesthetic delivered to the patient. With minimal fresh gas flow this is facilitated by continuous monitoring and recording of the agent's concentration ('Anestheticography'). Alterations brought about by routine clinical maneuvers become visible. We recorded the course of the inspiratory and expiratory concentration of volatile anesthetic (Isoflurane) by infrared absorption and a trend recorder. Changing the carrier gas composition during high flow from 75% to 25% nitrous oxide in oxygen resulted in a 10% increase of the inspiratory isoflurane concentration. Activating the oxygen bypass or exchanging …

Incorporación de Internet de las Cosas (IoT) en la docencia universitaria en dos etapas: hardware y software

2018

[EN] IoT is a concept referred to a network of common objects interconnected through the Internet. This is one of the main areas with growing interest and also necessary for the Telecommunication and Telematics Engineering students. The main constraints which face the students with IoT are the integration of the hardware as well as the need for management systems to handle the amount of data they generate by specific software. This work shows some experiences done by a group of students in the Telematics Engineering Degree and the Master of Telecommunications.

Mechanical insufflation-exsufflation vs. tracheal suctioning via tracheostomy tubes for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: a pilot study.

2003

To compare the effects of mechanical insufflation-exsufflation vs. suctioning via tracheostomy tubes on respiratory variables for six amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients. In this prospective crossover study, six consecutive patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis who required continuous mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy tubes and developed chest infections underwent measurement of pulse oxyhemoglobin saturation (SpO2), peak inspiratory pressure (PIP), mean airway pressure (Pawm), and work of breathing performed by the ventilator (WOBv) at baseline and 5 and 30 min after tracheal suctioning and 5 min after mechanical insufflation-exsufflation.The baseline values were 93.50 +/- 2.…

The Poisson problem: A comparison between two approaches based on SPH method

2012

Abstract In this paper two approaches to solve the Poisson problem are presented and compared. The computational schemes are based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics method which is able to perform an integral representation by means of a smoothing kernel function by involving domain particles in the discrete formulation. The first approach is derived by means of the variational formulation of the Poisson problem, while the second one is a direct differential method. Numerical examples on different domain geometries are implemented to verify and compare the proposed approaches; the computational efficiency of the developed methods is also studied.

Interconnections criteria of grounding grids in global grounding systems

2018

A Global Grounding System is defined as the combination of local grounding systems, obtained by their interconnection, which ensures, thanks to their proximity, that no dangerous touch voltages can arise. The interconnection of grounding systems via the armors of the MV cables, between secondary substations and HV/MV stations is herein analyzed to verify the effects on touch voltages in ground-fault conditions. In particular, two main issues are discussed: 1) the transfer of dangerous voltages to secondary substations, due to ground-faults occurring at the HV/MV station; 2) the reduction in the magnitude of the ground potential rise due to ground-fault conditions at secondary substations, t…
