Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena on muodostaa kuvaus Willard Van Orman Quinen (1908–2000) filosofiseen järjestelmään sisältyvän totuuskäsityksestä. Quine käsittelee totuuden luonnetta lukuisissa teoksissaan systemaattisesti läpi pitkän uransa ajan. Tästä huolimatta hänen totuuskäsitystään ei ole tutkittu muutamia yksittäisiä artikkeleita lukuun ottamatta. Tämän tutkielman tavoitteena on täyttää tätä olemassa olevaa aukkoa suhteellisen laajassa Quinen filosofista järjestelmää käsittelevässä tutkimuskentässä. How are Games Interpreted? Hermeneutics for Game Studies

This paper presents a hermeneutic theory for game studies. It starts by giving an overview of hermeneutics, shows how in understanding games it is useful to divide hermeneutics into two aspects -- real-time hermeneutics and game hermeneutics -- and finishes by detailing complementary approaches to hermeneutics for games. The article builds upon earlier work in the hermeneutics of games and draws from philosophical hermeneutics. peerReviewed
The Case Study in Family Business : An Analysis of Current Research Practices and Recommendations

In this study, we identified and analyzed 75 articles in the family business (FB) literature between 2000 and 2014 as to the case study design they adopted. We found that the positivistic case study approach is the FB disciplinary convention. The two alternative approaches of critical realism and interpretivism are used to a significantly lesser extent. We anticipate that in the future the positivistic approach will continue to be used widely. The other two approaches can be employed to a higher extent since their use is likely to contribute to a scientific pluralism in FB case study research.
How and Why ‘Theory’ Is Often Misunderstood in Information Systems Literature

IS theory accounts have increased our understanding of scientific theories. However, many influential theory accounts in Information Systems (IS) are influenced by the Received View of scientific theory (RV), which flourished in the philosophy of science around 1930-1969. The RV has been widely rejected in the philosophy of science, as the theory ignored much of the actual scientific context, and it mischaracterized several important characteristics of scientific research and theories.
