This survey was developed to investigate multilingualism, language awareness and language-aware practices in early childhood education in Finland. The data consists of questionnaire data collected from early childhood education staff through an online survey. In linguistic landscape (LL) studies, various projects have demonstrated how language learners benefit from tasks that involve the documentation and interpretation of the LL. In this chapter, we investigate how Finnish as a second language learner exchange students turned the local LL into affordances during their time abroad in Finland. An educational co-creation project can provide valuable information about the current needs in working life and engage students in a meaningful way thus promoting their learning outcomes significantly. In this article, I argue that Porphyry’s conception of justice in On abstinence is remarkable for several reasons. While I agree with Fay Edwards that Porphyry does not assume the moral status of animals to depend on their rationality, I argue that Porphyry’s claim is not based on any form of the assumption that animals deserve moral consideration only if they share some relevant property with human beings. Contrary to Edwards, I argue that this is not because justice is irrelevant to animals in On abstinence 3. Tämä pro gradu –tutkielma käsittelee energiaa kehollisena kokemuksena. Työ pyrkii kokoamaan yhteen erilaisia energian kokemuksen määritelmiä ja niiden yhteydessä käytettyä terminologiaa sekä näin rakentamaan sille erilaisten käsitysten kirjon sisältävät tulkintaraamit. Tutkimus lähestyy kysymyksiä energian kokemukseen liittyvistä ulottuvuuksista, sen yhteydestä kehon aistimuksiin, mielen prosesseihin, tunne-elämään sekä sen syntymistä ja ilmenemistä liikkeenä. This article discusses the results of a reception study of three environmental films with a focus on emotional reactions and the films’ influence on the respondents’ environmental awareness. The short experimental film Valtakunnat/Realms (Finland, 2018) envisions post-human life, and the potential destruction that the planet is being driven towards. To Teach a Bird to Fly (Finland, 2020), a short documentary fiction film about a woman raising critically endangered birds, imagines a future where the effects of climate change have been reversed.
