Organisational GDPR Investments and Impacts
2023
The aim of this empirical multi-case study is to understand the GDPR investments and impacts of the organisations. Among these, the measuring experiences related to GDPR and information security (Isec), and the future expectations are examined. Several interesting findings were recognised, which also enabled further suggestions. First, an understanding of the organisations’ investments and their impact is built by gathering information about the actions that organisations made to fulfil the GDPR requirements. In the second phase, it is deemed necessary to examine how organisations experience the measures and evaluation of GDPR development and progress, in order to understand how respondents…

Asiakassuhdemarkkinointi ja sanomalehtien asiakashallinta : konstruktiivinen tutkimus transitionaalisella toimialalla
2001
Tutkimus on konstruktiivinen, soveltava tapaustutkimus. Sen toimeksiantajina oli se…

Findings also indicated that even though GDPR had upraised information security and data protection requirements, it has caused also challenges. Previous research raised important separ…
GDPR guidelines for academic research in marketing
2021
The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has changed the level of rigour with which academics need to approach designing and executing research involving the collection of personal data. While the required care resembles that which is required by an Institutional Review Board, the particular areas on which researchers need to focus differ, and this is partly due to the nature of the data used when investigating how consumers interact with the marketing environment. In this chapter, the authors draw on their expertise in academic and commercial marketing research to propose a seven-step approach to designing GDPR-compliant research and provide an overview of the procedura…

New Insights into the Justifiability of Organizational Information Security Policy Noncompliance : A Case Study
2022
Information security policies as apparatus for communicating security principles with employees are the cornerstone of organizational information security. Resultantly, extant literature has looked at different theories to better understand the noncompliance problem. Neutralization theory is emerging as one of the most popular approaches, not only as an explanation but also as a solution. In this in-depth qualitative study, we ask the question ‘how do employees justify violating the ISP’? Our findings reveal nine rationalizing techniques, three of which have not been recognized in previous research. We label them ‘I follow my own rules’, ‘matter of mere legality’ and ‘defense of uniqueness’…
