A new playing field : Changing logics in the use of spaces by Finnish sport clubs

Purpose: Using an institutionalist approach, this paper examines the changing logics in the organisational field of Finnish sport clubs. More specifically, the utilisation of physical spaces by sport clubs is investigated. Research methods: Data were collected by conducting semi-structured interviews with 26 sport clubs from the Central Finland region and by obtaining club documents. Findings: Sport club’ expectations of spaces have diversified. They have started to use a broad range of spaces by various providers, to work towards innovative solutions with stakeholders, and to rely on club-owned facilities. During last years the incidence and severity of ice hockey related concussions have been increased and, hence, something should be done to stop this growth. The main aim of this study was to find out how dasher board materials and structures affect impact characteristics and, thereby, the risk of concussions. Ventilation Problems in Heritage Buildings

The control of indoor conditions in heritage buildings, such as castles or museums, is of paramount importance for the proper preservation of the artworks kept in. As heritage buildings are often not equipped with HVAC systems, it is necessary to provide proper interventions and measures with the aim of monitoring and controlling indoor physical parameters. Moreover, another requirement should be achieved in such buildings, that is the maintenance of the safety conditions in presence of visiting people. This work reports the results of a survey carried on a hall of a historical palace, aimed to assess an useful correlation between CO2 concentration and occupancy levels.

Publisher Copyright: © 2023 The Authors River lampreys (Lampetra fluviatilis) were caught in the fall 2014 on entering the River Perhonjoki for spawning and kept at a hatchery until spawning in late spring 2015 to produce larvae for compensatory stockings. Since the lampreys died massively from early February onwards, they were investigated in March and May to clarify the cause of the deaths. The symptoms in lampreys resembled those of lipid-related thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency of salmonines, called the M74 syndrome in the Baltic Sea area. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastelun kohteena on Rauhan mielisairaalan evakuoiminen ja sen vaikutukset sijoitussairaaloihin toisen maailmansodan aikana. Rauhan mielisairaala sijaitsi Joutsenossa, Kaakkois-Suomessa. Vaikka Joutseno ei ollut varsinaisella sotatoimialueella eikä alue joutunut alueluovutusten kohteeksi, sairaala evakuoitiin kuitenkin kolme kertaa. Tavoitteena on tutkia evakuointeihin vaikuttaneita syitä, evakuointien käytännön toteutusta sekä piirimielisairaaloiden toimintaa sota-aikana, koska Rauhan sairaala oli piirimielisairaala ja potilaiden sijoitussairaalat olivat myös hoidollisesti samantasoisia sairaaloita. Skuteczność wentylacji grawitacyjnej w budownictwie mieszkaniowym

Skuteczność systemu wentylacji jest znaczącym problemem w budownictwie mieszkaniowym.W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań systemu wentylacji grawitacyjnej w lokalach mieszkalnych poddanych termomodernizacji. Badania przeprowadzono w lokalu mieszkalnym o powierzchni 60 m2 znajdującym się w budynku wielorodzinnym w Opolu. Badania prowadzono zarówno przed jak i po prowadzonej termomodernizacji mieszkania. Badania wykazały iż wentylacja grawitacyjna nie spełnia wymaganych w normach parametrów wymiany powietrza. Stwierdzono również zmniejszenie skuteczności wentylacji grawitacyjnej po przeprowadzeniu prac termomodernizacyjnych.
