Mental imagery is a cognitive tool that helps humans take decisions by simulating past and future events. The hypothesis has been advanced that there is a functional equivalence between actual and mental movements. Yet, we do not know whether there are any limitations to its validity even in terms of some fundamental features of actual movements, such as the relationship between space and time. Purpose: To evaluate and compare peri-implant health, marginal bone loss and success of immediate and delayed implant placement for rehabilitation with full-arch fixed prostheses. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate experimentally the positional stability and histomorphometric findings of length-reduced temporary anchorage devices (Orthosystem, length: 4 mm) with reduced sink depth. Material and methods For this purpose, four maxillary pre-molars ((2)P(2), (3)P(3)) were extracted from each of four foxhounds. This study addresses the question whether K(+) channels are involved in the vasorelaxant effects of 3-(5'-hydroxymethyl-2'-furyl)-1-benzyl-indazole (YC-1 ). In rat aorta, guinea pig aorta, and guinea pig a. carotis, YC-1 inhibited contractions induced by phenylephrine (3 microM) more potently than those induced by K(+)(48 mM). In rat aorta, tetraethylammonium (10 mM), charybdotoxin (0.2 microM), and iberiotoxin (0.1 microM), but not glibenclamide (10 microM), attenuated the relaxant effects of YC-1. The effects induced on the discharge of subthalamic spontaneously active neurons by inhibiting the enzyme nitric oxide synthase was studied in two groups of urethane-anesthetized rats.
