A robust fault detection design for uncertain Takagi-Sugeno models with unknown inputs and time-varying delays

Abstract This paper investigates the problem of robust fault detection system design for a class of uncertain Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) models. The system under consideration is subject to unknown input and time-varying delay. The fault detection system is designed such that the unknown input is thoroughly decoupled from residual signals generated by the fault detection system. Furthermore, the residual signals show the maximum possible sensitivity to the faults and the minimum possible sensitivity to the external disturbances. On lower-bound estimates of the Lyapunov dimension and topological entropy for the Rossler systems

In this paper, on the example of the Rössler systems, the application of the Pyragas time-delay feedback control technique for verification of Eden’s conjecture on the maximum of local Lyapunov dimension, and for the estimation of the topological entropy is demonstrated. To this end, numerical experiments on computation of finite-time local Lyapunov dimensions and finite-time topological entropy on a Rössler attractor and embedded unstable periodic orbits are performed. The problem of reliable numerical computation of the mentioned dimension-like characteristics along the trajectories over large time intervals is discussed. peerReviewed

Observer-based H∞ control on stochastic nonlinear systems with time-delay and actuator nonlinearity

Abstract In this paper, an observer-based H ∞ controller is designed for a class of extended Markov jump systems subject to time-delay and actuator saturation nonlinearity. Gradient linearization procedure is employed to describe such nonlinear systems by several linear Markov jump systems. Next, a mode-dependent Lyapunov function is constructed for these linear systems, and a sufficient condition is derived to make them stochastically stable, and then, a continuous gain-scheduled approach is applied to design a continuous nonlinear observer-based controller on the entire extended nonlinear jump system. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of developed techniques.

Finite-time stability and stabilisation for a class of nonlinear systems with time-varying delay

This paper is concerned with the problems of finite-time stability FTS and finite-time stabilisation for a class of nonlinear systems with time-varying delay, which can be represented by Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy system. Some new delay-dependent FTS conditions are provided and applied to the design problem of finite-time fuzzy controllers. First, based on an integral inequality and a fuzzy Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, a delay-dependent FTS criterion is proposed for open-loop fuzzy system by introducing some free fuzzy weighting matrices, which are less conservative than other existing ones. The Lorenz system : hidden boundary of practical stability and the Lyapunov dimension

On the example of the famous Lorenz system, the difficulties and opportunities of reliable numerical analysis of chaotic dynamical systems are discussed in this article. For the Lorenz system, the boundaries of global stability are estimated and the difficulties of numerically studying the birth of self-excited and hidden attractors, caused by the loss of global stability, are discussed.
