Populism as a pathological form of politics of recognition

This article combines the neo-Hegelian theory of recognition with an analysis of social pathologies to show how the populist formulations of political goals in struggles for recognition are – despite their potential positive motivating force – socially pathological. The concept of recognition, combined with the idea of social pathologies, can thus be used to introduce normative considerations into the populism analysis. The Finnish educational system is well known for its excellent learning results, highly trained teachers and egalitarian values. However, when the political leanings of the government change, its policies are usually altered as well. In this policy report we give an account of the recent changes and current trends in Finnish education policy. The research was carried out with 236 students attending the Educational Technologies course at the Primary Education program at Palermo University, during academic year 2017/2018. La polineuropatía periférica (PNP), la forma de presentación más frecuente de la neuropatía diabética, es una de las complicaciones microvasculares clave en el curso de la diabetes, por su relación con el desarrollo del llamado pie diabético, con una gran repercusión sobre la calidad de vida y coste sanitario.
