Bakalaura darba “Spīdzināšana krimināltiesībās” izprast spīdzināšanas jēdzienu un noteikt tā vietu krimināltiesībās, kā arī identificēt problemātiku, kas ir saistīta ar šo nozari un atrast kā šo problemātiku var risināt. Latvijas Republikas normatīvajos aktos un tiesību zinātnieku viedokļos kā arī tiesu praksē, starptautisko tiesību normatīvajos aktos un to tiesību zinātnieku viedokļos tiks skatīts spīdzināšanas jēdziens un tā problemātika. Rezultātā pēc veiktās analīzes tiks piedāvāti priekšlikumi Krimināllikuma uzlabošanai un modernizēšanai.

Resum: A partir dels rics fons en matèria judicial que es conserven als arxius de les ciutats de València i Lleida, hem desenvolupat una recerca sobre la intervenció dels practicants de la medicina com a guaridors i com a experts cridats en els tribunals per determinar la naturalesa i la gravetat de les lesions causades per diferents formes de violència exercida contra la dona: violació, maltractament domèstic, tortura, agressions comunes. Fem una aproximació a la legislació, i la contrastem amb la documentació, particularment els testimonis d’individus cridats als judicis. The Loss of Confidence in the World

In this chapter, I focus on the experience of torture and, more specifically, on Jean Améry's account of it in his book *At the Mind's Limits*. There he claims that the loss of confidence in the world is the most devastating effect he experienced as a victim of torture. I thus explore what cosmopolitan aspiration may be revealed by this loss and also discuss whether it is to be discredited as an irrational reaction on the victim's side or instead as proportional to the facts and, consequently, as relevant to the conditions under which a certain cosmopolitan aspiration could be achieved or, at least, favored.

As the literature is not exhaustive with reference to the way the Turin Shroud (TS) Man was crucified, and it is not easy to draw significant information from only a "photograph" of a man on a linen sheet, this study tries to add some detail on this issue based on both image processing of high resolution photos of the TS and on experimental tests on arms and legs of human cadavers. Les médecins étaient souvent appelés à intervenir en tant qu’experts dans les cours de justice de la ville de Valence à la fin du Moyen Âge. Ils étaient sollicités pour des raisons diverses et on attendait d’eux qu’ils rendent des jugements ou des pronostics. Un des cadres dans lesquels ils apparaissaient est la prison. La torture faisait partie du développement des procédures judiciaires en tant qu’élément destiné à prouver les faits, pour empêcher que le juge ait le moindre doute. Les doutes suscités par de possibles simulations requéraient les compétences de ces experts, à qui revenait la décision d’infliger ou non la torture au prisonnier.
