Simple flume with a central baffle

Abstract In this paper the stage-discharge relationship of a flume with a central baffle is theoretically deduced using the Buckingham-Theorem of the dimensional analysis and the self-similarity theory. The new stage-discharge equation is calibrated by the measurements carried out by Peruginelli and Bonacci using a baffle having a given throat length and five different values of the contraction ratio. Finally, for a given throat length, a relationship linking the discharge with the upstream water depth, the contraction ratio and the contracted width is deduced.

El deber de información se ha consagrado como la herramienta estrella del derecho contractual de consumo. Su proliferación a lo largo del ordenamiento jurídico es una realidad por pocos negada. Sin embargo, su utilización ha demostrado pocas evidencias de éxito. Lo que nos lleva a cuestionar la naturaleza de las premisas teóricas sobre las que se fundamenta. BACKGROUND: The loss of corticosteroid efficacy is an important issue in severe asthma management and may lead to poor asthma control and deterioration of airflow. Recent data indicate that Mucin 1 (MUC1) membrane mucin can mediate corticosteroid efficacy in chronic rhinosinusitis, but the role of MUC1 in uncontrolled severe asthma is unknown. TALPID3/KIAA0586 is an evolutionary conserved protein, which plays an essential role in protein trafficking. Its role during gastrointestinal (GI) and enteric nervous system (ENS) development has not been studied previously. Here, we analyzed chicken, mouse and human embryonic GI tissues with TALPID3 mutations. The GI tract of TALPID3 chicken embryos was shortened and malformed. Histologically, the gut smooth muscle was mispatterned and enteric neural crest cells were scattered throughout the gut wall. Image inpainting using directional wavelet packets originating from polynomial splines

The paper presents a new algorithm for the image inpainting problem. The algorithm is using a recently designed versatile library of quasi-analytic complex-valued wavelet packets (qWPs) which originate from polynomial splines of arbitrary orders. Tensor products of 1D qWPs provide a diversity of 2D qWPs oriented in multiple directions. For example, a set of the fourth-level qWPs comprises 62 different directions.
