Joint second-order parameter estimation for spatio-temporal log-Gaussian Cox processes

We propose a new fitting method to estimate the set of second-order parameters for the class of homogeneous spatio-temporal log-Gaussian Cox point processes. With simulations, we show that the proposed minimum contrast procedure, based on the spatio-temporal pair correlation function, provides reliable estimates and we compare the results with the current available methods. Moreover, the proposed method can be used in the case of both separable and non-separable parametric specifications of the correlation function of the underlying Gaussian Random Field. We describe earthquake sequences comparing several Cox model specifications.

The author proposes a new interpretation of the well-known Ulpian’s and Pedius’ words contained in D. 2.14.1.3, which is based on the idea that ‘conventio’, despite its common assumption as equivalent of ‘consensus’ (in the abstract sense of subjective element of a contract), rather alludes to the content of the ‘consensus’ as the objective result of a coinciding perception and will (‘in idem sentire’) between the contracting parties.

Stability of stochastic nonlinear systems with state-dependent switching

In this paper, the problem of stability on stochastic systems with state-dependent switching is investigated. To analyze properties of the switched system by means of Itô’s formula and Dynkin’s formula, it is critical to show switching instants being stopping times. When the given active-region set can be replaced by its interior, the local solution of the switched system is constructed by defining a series of stopping times as switching instants, and the criteria on global existence and stability of solution are presented by Lyapunov approach. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiographical characteristics of non-syndromic hypodontia and hyperdontia in the permanent dentition.Study design: This study included 139 patients. Clinical and radiographical examinations were carried out by two examiners. Number and localization of missing or supernumerary teeth, and pathologies associated with the teeth, were recorded. Tergal glands are found at the anterior margin of tergites 6-10 and posterior sternal glands (PSGs) are located at the anterior margin of sternites 6-7.
