Background: To better understand the epidemiology and patterns of tracheostomy practice for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), we investigated the current usage of tracheostomy in patients with ARDS recruited into the Large Observational Study to Understand the Global Impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Failure (LUNG-SAFE) study. La estenosis traqueal es una situación de gran importancia clínica. Se calcula que se produce aproximadamente en el 5-20% de los pacientes intubados o traqueostomizados. La estenosis postintubación y los tumores traqueales son las indicaciones más frecuentes para la resección y reconstrucción de la tráquea.
