Predictors of early dropout in treatment for gambling disorder: The role of personality disorders and clinical syndromes
2017
Several treatment options for gambling disorder (GD) have been tested in recent years; however dropout levels still remain high. This study aims to evaluate whether the presence of psychiatric comorbidities predicts treatment outcome according to Millon's evolutionary theory, following a six-month therapy for GD. The role of severity, duration of the disorder, typology of gambling (mainly online or offline) and pharmacological treatment were also analysed. The recruitment included 194 pathological gamblers (PGs) to be compared with 78 healthy controls (HCs). Psychological assessment included the South Oaks Gambling Screen and the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III. The "treatment fail…
Rituaalikuolema ja perhetragedia: Itsemurhan määrittely ja tabuluonteisuus kauhuelokuvassa Midsommar – loputon yö
2021
European evidence-based recommendations for clinical assessment of upper limb in neurorehabilitation (CAULIN): data synthesis from systematic reviews…
2021
Abstract Background Technology-supported rehabilitation can help alleviate the increasing need for cost-effective rehabilitation of neurological conditions, but use in clinical practice remains limited. Agreement on a core set of reliable, valid and accessible outcome measures to assess rehabilitation outcomes is needed to generate strong evidence about effectiveness of rehabilitation approaches, including technologies. This paper collates and synthesizes a core set from multiple sources; combining existing evidence, clinical practice guidelines and expert consensus into European recommendations for Clinical Assessment of Upper Limb In Neurorehabilitation (CAULIN). Methods Data from systema…
Rethinking the improvisation of digital health technology: A niche construction perspective
2022
Paid open access The COVID-19 pandemic has sent shock waves through healthcare organisations and catalysed an impromptu digital shift, creating a demand for telemedicine and other digital health technologies. Under such conditions, improvisation, adaptation, and innovation emerge as core dimensions to an organisation’s capacity to generate a response to crisis. This paper integrates a process perspective on the radical improvisation of a digital health technology and investigates how the radical improvisation of a digital health technology emerges and develops during a health crisis. Through a combination of supporting case evidence and literature, a multi-phase conceptual process model anc…
Anestesisykepleier i traumeteam : En kvalitativ studie om hvordan opplever nyutdannet anestesisykepleier å delta i traumeteam
2020
Master's thesis in Specialized nursing (ME519) Background: Our interest in the trauma team beganwhen we started working in the hospital. This interest increased as we began our education as anesthetic nurses and were allowed to join the trauma team with a larger and more important role. Anesthetic nursing is a practical profession and requires high professional knowledge and good practical skills. An anesthetic nurses hould be able to participate in pre-hospital work. A newly trained anesthetic nurse who works in trauma teams can feel very vulnerable and intimidated in an emergency situation due to the fact that they would have least amount of knowledge and experience in situations such as …

Mental health and psychosocial support strategies in highly contagious emerging disease outbreaks of substantial public concern: A systematic scoping…
2021
Background Acute disease outbreaks such as the COVID-19 pandemic cause a high burden of psychological distress in people worldwide. Interventions to enable people to better cope with such distress should be based on the best available evidence. We therefore performed a scoping review to systematically identify and summarize the available literature of interventions that target the distress of people in the face of highly contagious disease outbreaks. Methods MEDLINE, Cochrane CENTRAL, Web of Science (January 2000 to May 7, 2020), and reference lists were systematically searched and screened by two independent reviewers. Quantitative and qualitative studies investigating the effects of psyc…
