A siliciclastic shallow-marine turbidite on the carbonate shelf of the Ordovician Baltoscandian palaeobasin

A metre-scale thick siltstone–sandstone lobe is described within the Dapingian outer ramp argillaceous limestone facies of the Baltoscandian palaeobasin. This bed is referred to as the Volkhov Oil Collector in previous studies due to its hydrocarbon accumulation potential. It formed on the palaeoslope of the regional Jelgava Depression, which represents an elongated axial region of the deepest part of the Ordovician Baltoscandian sedimentary basin. Sedimentological and petrological analysis of this siliciclastic bed in core sections shows that it was deposited as a result of a single event of turbidite flow. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tutkia tapoja, joiden avulla turismiin liittyvät elinkeinot ovat toipuneet tsunamin jälkeen Phuketissa ja Khao Lakissa. Tutkimuksessa etsitään myös piileviä syitä sille, miksi joissakin yhteisöissä elinkeinot ovat toipuneet toisten yhä taistellessa selviytyäkseen tsunamin seurauksista. Tutkimuksen käsitteellinen perusta on elinkeinojen kestävä toipuminen. Erityisen huomion kohteena ovat toipumisen neljä osa-aluetta: maineen, talouden, yhteisöjen ja suhteiden toipuminen. The poster intends to describe the main contents of the National Emergency Plan for volcanic events of national importance on the island of Stromboli (ME) prepared in 2015 by the Department for the Civil Protection (DPC). The volcanic island of Stromboli is in fact largely exposed to the risk associated with the activities of the volcano of the same name, especially that of the tsunami. The effusive activity of the Stromboli in fact causes a marked instability of the slope known as Sciara del Fuoco which can induce, as happened at the end of 2002, a tsunami.
